The FA CUP Third Round ** Spoilers ** [2nd - 6th January 2015]

Because it's the FA Cup and has never been any different.
Little teams raise their game and big teams get scared a bit.

True, Yeovil not undeservedly have a bit of a reputation though and if you turn up expecting to walk over them you will probably lose - I have a feeling LVG didn't know quite what to make of Yeovil but was wary of their reputation hence the slightly unusual substitution which worked in the end.

Tom Ince's career seems to have hit the skids.

Saw him play again Leicester and he wasn't at all bad (despite the result of that game). Its a shame, because he has a fair bit of natural talent, but he won't get too many games at Hull (in the Premier League, drop down a league and he will be an astute signing).

Pretty meh football, Hull having it for fairly long periods but passing basically in the middle third away from Arsenal players, zero penetration, zero quality and not much closing from Arsenal as they look happy for Hull to waste time doing that.

Arsenal side we're playing three players looking to be played in behind and no player upfront to get the ball and make those passes.

Walcott/Campbell want to run behind a Giroud type upfront or at least have some interplay with someone further up the field in the middle but Sanchez being played in that role is constantly deep and looking to pick up and run the ball from deep... which is irritating because almost nothing comes out of his play doing that. In Walcott and Sanchez you have near identical players in terms of where they are effective. Sanchez runs with the ball a lot more than Walcott obviously but nothing actually comes of it. It's when as ROsicky passed him in behind that Sanchez is getting the goals he gets for us.

We need a proper centre forward for players like Sanchez/Walcott/Campbell to work behind and run beyond.

Arsenal would have that if Giroud wasn't suspended, no?

More a case of too many similar players. When everyone is back fit you'll have Giroud, Welbeck, Ozil, Cazorla, Sanchez, Walcott and then Campbell and Podolski on top but we can safely ignore them as players Wenger doesn't care about.

It's a problem I pointed out at the start of the season, what is our best team or more important what team will Wenger pick for the most important games. Ozil and Walcott wide... Sanchez upfront, will suck but Wenger might well do that. Giroud... then Sanchez and Ozil wide, Cazorla in the middle, he seems to have fallen back in love with Cazorla and won't drop him.

I mean overall it could never be an issue... chances of having more than 4 of those players fit at the same time is almost nil :p

Wenger just keeps buying similar players over and over again without any thought to the future and how they'll play together. Welbeck... even though when everyone is fit he'd be for me like 6th choice to start wide, when we were desperate to spend on positions our first choices are poor(LB, CB, DM).

Game over and Sanchez really has been the difference between the two sides today, was involved with almost every Arsenal attack.

Hull won't be disappointed by this though with the money they will get from Arsenal for this game. From that point of view you could argue that its one of the best draws we could have had.

For anyone interested that didn't know, Sociedad vs Barcelona on at 8pm tonight. Moyes at home to Barca. Sociedad in the past 4 years have been excellent at home and have beaten Barca, Atletico, Real several times... though I'm not convinced the less offensive frankly boring Sociedad teams we've seen since Moyes took over will not just get spanked.

Just read Vela is starting, was injured in the previous game, without him or Griezman I wouldn't have given them any chance at all.

Beat them 3/4 times at home in past 4 years, was expecting the usual dm exagerration in favour of something you like. Thats quite impressive from them.
