nah, in the post fight press conference Cerrone said the kicks at the end were "**** you" kicks due to Jury running away and causing the fans to boo
Cerrone should get a bonus but not Jury

Jones showed 0 class at the end though.

I'd disagree with this tbh - to me it simply showed that these guys genuinely don't like each other - I think DC might have said similar if Joe had got round to interviewing him too!

You can respect your opponent as a fellow professional but it doesn't mean that you have to like him as a person.

I like a bit of needle to carry on post-fight! :D

In fairness to Jones DC has been giving him grief and trying to belittle him for months. I wouldnt like DC either if i was him, you cant like everyone and you could tell the emotions was high on that fight for him everyone has a bitter side to them.

Will DC get a chance at Gus?

I'd imagine the winner of Gus and Rumble will get the next title fight!

I'd like to see DC get the loser of that fight with a view to another crack at the title if he wins (although I don't see him beating Jones without a big improvement in his game!) - not a lot else in the LHW division for Jones after the top three imo!

iirc Gus was booked to fight Jones but DC got the fight due to Gus getting injured, and if thats the case then Gus should get the rematch straight away as long as he can beat Rumble, if Rumble wins then they'l probably get him to fight DC before getting a title shot

Normally I'd agree but if Rumble does win, that potentially leaves Jones out of action for a long time before fighting again! (as I said, there isn't much in the way of competition in the rest of the top 10!)

The winner of Gus vs Rumble getting the shot gets both champion and challenger back in the cage in roughly the same amount of time! (subject to no long medical absences!)

I see Jones has no interest in going to HW with the comments in the press conference.... Makes me wonder if there is a fear there. Yeah he is champion but to be considered more (and this is MY opinion), you need to be champ in more than 1 weight class if your body allows it and there is no reason his won't.

He did say he loses weight too easy and finds it hard to eat more, could be an excuse and I agree to be the greatest ever fighter he needs to do it in more than one weight class. Hasn't he talked of cutting to middleweight?

I should have been more clear. I wasn't meaning the post fight interview.

It was the moment just before the bell went, where Jones went to celebrate then tried to sucker punch Cormier. I know defend yourself at all times. But it's not classy at all.

At the same time what your saying is true, they have a genuine dislike for each other.

Perhaps Jones was frustrated he didn't hurt him more, still showed a lack of class by doing that though (in my view)

On a side note why was Lombard talking about Rory Mcdonald as next fight, I gather Lawler v Hendricks 3 is next?

Jones won't move up, you can tell the way he reacts to getting hit that he won't like the sort of power guys like Cain etc dish out.

His size is just too much for most LHWs to overcome, Gus is about the only person I can see taking him out. DC looked exhausted after the 3rd round, no way does Jones take DC down like that when he's not knackered.

Jones has no class, and is about as dirty a fighter you're likely to come across. Constant eye pokes, grabbing the inside of the gloves, and what about when DC picked him up he was trying to hold onto the top of the cage .... just a dirty fighter. Trouble is, he's also seriously good and knows how to use that ridiculous reach advantage.

On a side note, how annoying is Herb Dean as a ref? White is always up his rear about being the best in the business, but he let's fighters hug against the cage far too long for my liking, should separate much quicker.

Edit: Just watched the post fight press conference and Jones is talking about fighting Cain 'in a heartbeat' ... that fight will never take place, he's not stupid enough.

I think so yes, I'm sure I read somewhere that Dana had already announced the rubber match!

I've seen a lot worse just left there up against the cage! To be fair to Herb, while neither man was doing anything exceptional, both were struggling to gain a leverage advantage rather than just hanging off one another!

Lol Cerrone is back against Benson Henderson on the 19th. Not sure why Alvarez is out but Cowboy is ****ing insane. What a warrior.

6 fights in 365 days.
