I think the problem (I'm assuming you mean the problem of terrorist attacks) is with extremism. Not Islam. What do you think the cause of the problem is?

Please don't feel pity for me. I believe in science and evolution so fairy tale 'god's have no place in my belief system whatsoever.

I'm OK with the fact that there is no afterlife, but I know and understand that some people need religion in their lives as comfort that it doesn't end when or brains stop functioning.
 
Very sad state of affairs. These killers are cowards at the very least. They are not true Muslims. They are sick and twisted just like all the other extremists they belong too.

God will punish them for this.

Ok what about this analogy. We have a group/cult of people that share the same religion/cult, a part of the religion/cult is that they have to murder their first born and sacrifice it to the sky god Giradia. 60% of the cult members don't like this part and they ignore and it pretend that it does not exist and is not apart of their interpretation of the cults writings. Time passes and the 40% have killed many children for Giradia.

Would it then be reasonable to say that it was not the cult too blame, just the extremists that misinterpreted the cults writings? Would it not be more reasonable to say that it was directly and primarily and only the fault of the cults writings that such atrocities ever occurred. It is then irrelevant that 60% of the cult members did not murder their children.

Which 'god'? Seems as just about every corner of the globe believes in a different one, you should be more specific perhaps.
