Headshot on anything non-yellow is instant death on RoC strikes. Makes it feel like a Magnum .44... feel lucky punk? Not bad in PvP, a little slow when being rushed by more than 2.
 
I'm not a fan of the hunter cloak, it's looks kinda stupid I think.. I noticed there are some much smaller and more basic cloaks you can get at a really low level character.. is there anyway as a 31 I can get one? or am I stuck with a "Superman" cape..

I know i could get one as a new character, but I've got 3 already and don't want to delete one just to get a new cloak
 
Hmm, there are some quite narrow FWC ones.....but I was reading in the Art of Destiny book that the length of cloak is meant to represent the level of the gear. Best you're going to get is probably a rare one from strikes playlist or something.

Dead Orbit or New Mornachy's All Black / Red scarf is better than the capes IMO. Also, the superman cape is a lot better than the Eris class item that makes my Hunter look like a Japanese Sushi Master every time I hand in her quest!

Run the lower level strikes if you've not done them from the mission selection and hope you get the lower class item.

Not sure if the same can be said for the lower level playlist, never tried it.

You could buy class item engrams from the cryptarch when he has them.

You've already mentioned the main reason why you were not getting legendaries/exotics, you should have been raiding weekly from 27 onwards in order to get some decent gear from VoG, its not that hard to find a group on DestinyLFG. Maybe you don't like playing with randoms, I cant say I like to much either but I will if I need to.

Legendaries actually aren't that common from random drops, most of mine came from guaranteed legendary rewards like nightfall and the raids and the majority of my exotics were bought from Xur.

By drop do you mean an engram drop on the floor or an exotic in general dropping in the rewards screen? You trying the nightfalls every week? Tend to get at least one exotic per week with 3 characters trying it. Sometimes i get lucky and get two, sometimes it's awful and i get nothing across all three characters.

Your chances for exotics are:
Doing the nightfall
beginning chest in crotas end raid (really easy to do solo)
chest in gorgon maze in the vault of glass
small chance of one from killing atheon/crota
having one drop in the rewards screen for crucible and ROC strike playlists.

how are you inviting people to your fireteam?
 
Completed atheon on hard earlier
Got two exotics - vex and superlord (got them both already), raid helmet, atheons epilogue and bike all in one drop!!!

Shame i had the two exotics already. Woulda traded.them all in for gallyhorn in a heart beat. Just cant seem to.get it to drop :(

thats because the cryptarch only sells green and white ones and there are only 3 green or maybe one or two white.

If you really don't like your cloak go try the ones the Speaker sells. There are the green and white ones you've been buying, plus the blue ones that drop as engrams, plus all the faction items, plus the legendary vanguard items, plus the crucible items, plus the eris items AND THEN there's the speaker ones.

So many to choose from.

I mentioned this to a couple of people earlier as they weren't aware and so thought there may be others out there..

If you want to find all the dead ghosts, http://destinyghosthunter.net lists all the ghosts and shows you the ones you've aready found along with the ones you still need. I've not got round to going through them all yet but it should making collecting them all a breeze. Enjoy! :)

Yeah it did seem to be a "VOG clearance sale" with the drops everyone got! I received; The Last word, VoG sparrow, Warlock Helm and something else which I can't remember off the top of my head.

Piphal actually received the same helmet twice & the VoG ship.

I would trade you my second G'horn (received from first NF last night) for your second Vex if I could. :)

What did everyone end up getting from their free gift?

I got another LDR Arc sniper with a better role than my current 331 model (field scout). I am quite happy with this as the only issue I had with my current one was only having 4 rounds.

My wife got coiled hiss which isn't the greatest pulse rifle (I got rid of mine very quickly after receiving from the NF last week), but she loves it (her first legendary primary). It rolled with perfect stability and radar staying active when ADS.
 
I got a coil hiss too - with bottom mag damage increase and stability quicker reload, so not too bad for my Warlock with occasional Pulse Rifle dapple.

My missus got another LMG but it's a different element to her current, so that's a win for her Nightfall trial when it comes to burn.

You know when you run HM without doing normal first, that you get the normal mode drops AND hard mode...hence the piles of loot. Last week HM atheon gave me two VoC! Yesterday I got shards, energy and my 4th Timebreaker :'(
