Just been watching it on TV. One thing I noticed was that everyone was either just there, or waving Jesuischarlie flags. That's it. Nothing else.

Over here you'd have Greenpeace, GayPride, Trade Unions, Socialist Worker, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, etc flags all being waved at whatever the march is... as if they're trying to latch on and steal the limelight. Not in this French march, people are there to support the one cause and aren't trying to use it towards their own political points.

Aye, it's exactly the opposite of what the extremists want.

It's great to see that many people going out of their way to show that the terrorists have basically failed in their aim (I'm tempted to say it's a huge finger being stuck up in the direction of the terrorists).

Errrm because this sought of horrific crime isn't happening every week!
With your 'it's 100% religion fault' naive argument I think we would be seeing many many more attacks in the west considering their are MILLIONS of Muslims living there.

Instead it's just a handful of radicalised western nut jobs hence the infrequency of attacks, if your flawed logic was true we would be seeing terrorist attacks like this ever other week!

It would happen more frequently if it wasn't stopped by intelligence agencies and the police. Sectarian violence and terrorism happens in the middle east on a frequent basis and has claimed tens of thousands of lives.

How many have been foiled by the security services?

How many attacks were there in the previous weeks in France, I can think of at least three.

Boko Harem today have killed, how many pictures have we seen of severed heads and groups of men facing firing squads.

These are sadly no isolated incidents.

very dubious logic there

plenty of Muslim can believe that insulting the prophet is an act that ought to be punished/is deserving of punishment without actually wanting to take the law into their own hands and potentially be killed/spend a lifetime in prison for taking the law into their own hands

it is that attitude/belief that needs to change and it is that attitude/belief that inevitably leads some to take things into their own hands - while it only happens sporadically in the west it happens quite frequently in Pakistan etc.. accusations of blasphemy over there will frequently get angry mobs forming, people killed

the issue is a religious/ideological one and it is something muslim leaders need to tackle
 
The foiled attacks would be in the HUNDREDS if your logic was sound and with basic probability many many more would have slipped through the net. Instead we have only dozens of 'claimed' foiled attacks and extremely rare attacks that aren't prevented like we have seen in France.

But hey don't let cold hard facts get in the way of your tarring of EVERY religious person :rolleyes:
