Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th January - 3rd February 2015]

Interesting comments from Keown on just how useful a wall is when defending a free-kick. I've often thought it is more of a problem for keepers from anything over 25 yards. It's going to take something special to beat a keeper that's set and waiting from that sort of distance.

...yes and the only change he mentioned was Arsenal in 4th, with the implication being he expects the top 3 to remain, Moses was questioning this.

You're making an assumption there. Are you paranoid or something? :p The only thing he commented on was the current top 4 and where he thinks Arsenal will finish.

It's an interesting point. Even when they go in the top corner the keepers are often only an arms length away from tipping it wide. With being able to cover more of the goal and seeing the ball all the way I'm sure keepers would have some advantage. Doubt we'll see many teams lining up without a wall though.

Why do you think Manyoo will stay ahead of Arsenal? I assume that's what you mean, rather than it being Southampton/Tottenham/Liverpool in third.

Crikey, didnt think my 1 comment would get people in a huff.

Answer: because Arsenal have mastered the art of getting 4th place.
I think its going to be close - dont get me wrong, but I think Arsene and the club directors have (realistic) targets of 4th. I know that the Man Utd top brass expect 3rd place.

What surprised me about the 'current form' table was that Liverpool are in first place and are scoring points faster than any other club. My belief is that 3rd and 4th place will be filled by Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool. One of those clubs is going to miss out. I think it will be Liverpool (though if they continue their current form for another few months, 3rd place is possible). On a positive note for them, they have Sturridge back, which could make a huge difference for them, if he can get back to full fitness.

If you have a look at who their last 6 games have been against you might not be so surprised :p
Blind stats are a complete waste of time.
