960 good or bad ?

That would / will be ridiculous. But I guess it's what happens when there is little competition.

There is competition especially at the mid end. That's just what happens when Nvidia launches another gen of milking cards. Little performance gain if any. Overpriced and underpowered. Yay..

Also the 970 false marketing.. Nvidia are on a roll this gen.

Arguably AMD have an answer for every tier at a better price point..

They also offer the only truly 4K ready GPU's with the 290X 8GB's..

Nvidia will bring GM200 soon better for 4K but I doubt you would get much change from £1000. Great stuff Nvidia !

I would assume that a 960Ti is essentially 6/7 (86%) of a 970 with 3GB of full-speed memory. I would say it will be a little slower than a 290 at 1080p, and weaker at higher resolutions but will have good overclocking and thermals.

Overall I would expect such a 960Ti would exceed a 280X and become the true replacement for its more or less discontinued old rival, the 770. A price of £180 would be about right for this.
