Phone broke last night whilst sleeping. Thought maybe it just hadn't charged through the pc right but has been plugged into the wall for 3 hours now and wont come on. When plugging into pc no itunes pops up indicating it's just the screen that's dead.

Phone was only bought about 3 months ago and has been in a case ever since. Phone is insured but should i go to apple or insurance about this?

Bought a 6+ for a relative however they do not like this, would I be able to return this to any Apple store or does it need to be the one purchased from?

Is it weird that I love Android but want to try an iPhone 6 after being away from the platform since the 5S came out?

Currently using an iPhone 6 but miss Android most days :(, just nothing really compares right now hardware wise, and touchId is really a game changer for me.

Dropped my iPhone 6 on Saturday night, screen completely smashed. Rang Apple on Sunday and they booked me in to the Bristol Store later that day. I was pretty hacked off when I got there and they said they wouldn't have enough to time replace the screen that day and I'd have to go back another time.

Well I went after work today and complained, I hoped to get the repair for free, but no, still had to pay £79 for a new screen however they gave me a free silicone case for it (£25), so not too bad.

Do the the battery usage stats actually show screen on time like android ?

Using a plus was off charge at 7am. On 34% right now with heavy ish use

Well that's terrible! Back to a search for a charger then  I hope on the next round manufacturers focus on battery life over aesthetics.

Actually that's great, 13 hours heavy use and still 34% left. You won't get anything better than that unless some new battery technology comes along.

i sold an note 4 to try a Plus, had the plus for 3 days

needless to say im back to Note 4

i gave it a chance but for me ios is too slow, things just take longer to do imo

in whats app for example to forward a message it takes longer than on android version.

plus when i receive a whats app message, i see the notification on the screen when i wake the phone but when i go into whats app i have to wait for the message to appear rather than it already being there, whats all that about?

camera is good and Touch ID is insane, wish Samsung did a decent finger like this

for me android is what i will stock too :)

Erm. Ask the WhatsApp developers?

It's a third party app...

But apps are better on iOS right ;). WhatsApp is a great example of an app thats is much better on Android, not only does the iOS app have little to no design, it lacks a lot of features, Facebook hasn't even tried to use extensions at all yet. Extensions are a pain but when your the size of Facebook you need to get that **** done on day 1, not have it missing after 5-6 months.

The thing I hate the most on iOS/OSX is how it handles Notification centre, I get a notification, open the app and read it, notification is still there, its a stupid over sight and its to the point where I just don't want to use the notification centre, its already a pain since it take 2 taps/swipe to clear things.

I dunno, never owned an Android phone. Holding the hardware platform responsible for a poorer version of a third party app is just daft IMO.

I'm off - need to go and state that that OS X and therefore all Macs are rubbish because Microsoft Excel is better on Windows... ;)

I think it's fair to say they are a lot better on average, at least in my experience.

However, I've never liked Whatsapp, I've tried it on both platforms and I think Viber is better in every way, just as one example.

This very rarely happens on my phone!

dunno about iphone 6 but ios 8 is a nightmare for developers

My wife has to travel for work and in iOS7 viber was no problem now it doesn't work at all as the other party has to have their phone unlocked to answer in time which of course is never the case.

IOS8 broke a lot of in car entertainment systems for no real reason.

Recently got Viber when I was on holiday and yeah its much nicer, however calls never come through too me on iOS8 maybe similar to what jas72 has reported.

Notification wise it seems to happen for most apps, maybe I'm meant to launch all apps from the NC and I'm not used too that yet since I normally just launch the app, and touchId blows me pass the lock screen so I just go into the apps I like. I also really miss the icons in the notification centre telling me whats waiting so while I'm in App X I know App Y,Z have notifications.

I've had the same viber issues, never used it on iOS8 thou.

This is also a good read about extensions not being as easy as it could have been/

iPhone 6 is actual taller, and has more UI elements at the top/left e.g back buttons for apps that don't support gestures. Its also very slippery so I worry whenever I have to readjust my grip. Nexus 5 is much easier for me to handle and handle with confidence. Also the home button being lower then on screen buttons means you have to move your thumb more.
