What did you do to your bike today?

Are you not off on your travels soon? Wasn't that why you ditched the Multistrada?

Typically, all fell through. AGAIN! 2 years in a row I've had to ditch plans for personal reasons. To say I'm miffed is an understatement. So I'll sit tight and accept I won't be on my travels again like I did years ago :(

I'll just visit places here and there but with money this time lol.

In seriousness though, I do want another bike, I LOVED the multi, through and through, I just can't afford one right now. If I'm a good boy, I might buy one later in the year.

The multi was perfect for my ride style. But, the roads are just... Just too busy. So, I'm either going to focus on a dirt bike to take to the dirt tracks every sunday or maybe a cheap Caterham to store in the garage and take to tracks and tinker with. Who knows. Right now, my focus is elsewhere rather than on vehicles.

Sorry to hear that

Might be worth investing in a ground anchor or something now as most likely they will be back knowing they can wheel it away....

Yes, going to check with my landlord whether that's an option. Just taking it to have the steering lock replaced now. I can use my abus granit dlock to secure it to the unoccupied next door drives security bar. I'm worried the toerag will come back and have another go.

Thats awful to hear, how did you find it. Much damage?... If you want revenge then do something like this http://youtu.be/WRJyJqx6WM0

A lovely lady who lives by where it had been wheeled to recognised it and had walked past me setting off each morning enough times to knock on my door and let me know where it was. Very lucky I guess, I imagine the theiving scum would be back this evening to try and hotwire it or put it in a van.

Lucky, same happened to me few weeks back, luckily they couldn't snap the steering, can't beat chaining it to something solid and a disc lock or two on there

Got the gun boot mounted to the luggage bolts so it's very secure now and also much lower then before.

im sorry but that looks ermmm. well lets put it nicely id rather have my eyes cut out then have to look at it, let alone be seen on it

I took mine out for the first time since before Christmas.

Discovered that turning the heated grips on makes the throttle stick, note to self to tell dealer to get it sorted next service.

I do wonder why they dumped the bike so close though... kids/drunks maybe?

Most likely kids/opportunist thieves who couldn't get it started, tried to wheel it away but couldn't be bothered to push it back to their mums house.

Even in the decent area I live in, it doesn't feel right having my bike visible to everyone - usually it's parked behind a caravan on the drive but the caravan has been moved as we're in the process of moving house. I think a gate/fence that thieves have to go through to get to a bike makes a big difference in deterring the kids/drunks - they won't just walk past and think "yeah, I want that" if they can't see it.

Well I need to double check what the laws says on overhanging luggage if I need to raise it more.

The problem is other then strapping the rifle bag across my bag I don't see any other option that is safe.
It may looking funny but it is safer in a hard case locked into the bike.

I feel your actually right, its the small things that do go along way to deterring theft, i have mine under a cover whilst at home, this way like you say 'if they cant see it they wont want it' also where it is parked, easily accessible and that.

So picked my bike up from the garage and think I've found my new regular garage.

Fitted my crash bungs (including drilling), engine and clutch casings (R&G say it's a 1 hour job), fixed my squeak which turned out to be the chain, and fixed my undertray all for £30 and saving me a lot of heartache (would have taken me ages to drill through my fairing for the crash bungs).

Annoyingly they forgot the resistor I wanted them to put in at the same time while they were at it. Will take it back and get it done free tomorrow so that's cool.

Pics coming... when it's not so filthy. Just can't stop driving it :D

That sounds like someone's messed up the bill either that or their labour rates are peanuts!

Haha probably the latter! But he did also say he was always cheap and good because he liked return customers (find it hard to believe both of things can be together though...)

He did add he's had 37 Honda CBR's in his life... so it's possible it took him a heck of a lot less time haha.

Dunno, could be kids but it's a street triple r, would have thought it a bit too quick if they were wanting a joyride. It was wheeled to a car park and hidden behind a wall, so probably a local piece of scum. I guess the fact it was left overnight suggests he/they didn't have a van to put it in.
Anyhow, nasty wake-up call; Almax chain, abloy padlock, y-anchor and alarmed disclock are in the post...
