We left both Iraq and Afghanistan too early. We should have stayed until the job was done; we didn't.

Churchill did actually want to push the soviets back into Russia, he did try to get support for a military offensive against Stalin after defeating Germany. The U.S. were having none of it though. I think part of it was something called Operation Unthinkable.

I wonder how many times this occurred in history. Where the new king would just destroy all record of the past and create his own history and keep the population in the dark. Definitely primitive, russian library just burned down a few months ago as well. Apparently that was an accident though, electrical fault.

How would you suggest we do the 'job'?
What job? Establishing democracy for a region that has never had it, is completely fundamentally mixed about trial and religious boundaries and beliefs?
Or which job? Demilitarising the place?

How would you suggest a modern reactionary army achieves such a goal?
I'd think such a thing impossible without two or three generations of copious education for the masses, unachievable for an army to become police and antiterrorist police for such a period.

Yes I know, they are part of the same branch and intertwined slightly with the connection between wahhabism and salafist thinking. the Saudi's are slightly more selective though aren't they?... like demolishing all around Mohammed's grave so they can put shopping centres and spa's there for pilgrims.

generally doing it so they can put something practical if soul less there...unlike demolishing ancient cities that are outside of any urban areas purely for a point.

There may be a ideological link but its not quite the same application is what I'm saying.

To do what? Kill the talibanians? Why? Is Afghani killing safari open? You(we) killed 1 million Iraqis for no reason whatsoever. And all the Afghani you fought were the Taliban UK and USA armed and trained to fight non existent enemy in Russia. And later instead of paying the poor old men pension you decided to kill them all off because TV is so boring.
Well done suggesting killing them more properly. Let's kill those simple farmers in one of those backward countries, shouldn't we? And lets send help to jihadis and them kill them too! Much fun. Now they wrecked some of the world's ugliest stone dolls they surely deserve to die.
 
I thought they were trashing all these sites as they contain statues/images of people from history which they consider idolatry and a slight on Muhammad. Either way, awful idiots.

Bit weird as they base their interpretation of Islam on Wahhabism, peddled by the Saudis, who's leaders have absolutely no problems putting pictures of themselves all over the place.

Surely you perceive me rather as idiotic. It's like boolean algebra where 0+A=A Outcome is idiotic, you are in the middle.
