Nobody else having issues with mouse look sensitivity currently?

It's making a lot of things quite painful.

On another not, glad to see interdictions have reduced to a reasonable levels.

Also, had my first ambush encounter. Popped in to signal source, all I saw was canisters of gold, thought bonus. Then a bunch of ships powered up and very nearly took me out in seconds.

I'm not sure if I should post this but I've just worked out how to use the Basic scanner :(

I didn't make the connection with using a second fire group until I read articles about the kill warrant scanner, and then looked up the key binding for changing fire groups..

I now have the basic scanner keyed to the main fire button (joy 1) and the kill warrant on joy 2. I didn't realise that whenever you enter a system you have to manually activate the scanner to discover things! Boy that's embarrassing... I really should read a manual sometime.

Whenever I enter a system I have the scanner fire group (as it were) as the default, scan the system, and if I meet someone when they get scanned as Wanted, I hit 'em with the kill warrant scanner before opening up.

I'm suddenly getting even more for kills (saw over 250K for one kill last night) and lots in exploration data.

It gets even better when you go bounty hunting in a wing with mates. You can take on some big ships and get some good money that way.

I'm up for some bounty hunting tonight! Won't be doing any trading though as I'm seriously bored of that.

May be on a little later as I'm not allowed to game till after 6.

That happened to my mate! Think he managed to get one before jumping outta there.

Had the same with the gold, but forgot to reset the weapons after an upgrade so boosted out, let my shields restore and fixed my weapons and got back in and took out the anaconda with some help from the locals when they arrived, then the others jumped out ... Was fun.

I wish I could have fought, but there were several and as mentioned, it as mere seconds before my Shields were down and I was taking major damage. My canopy was blown out and had like 20% hull by time I escaped.

Would have cost 200k to replace my ship with all current upgrades...

Dont think it would be easy for anyone with the number of ships that jump in , i was impressed with the Vulture and the pounding it took .. maybe i was lucky lol. Probably was as i not done much combat and stored my other ship to have a mess about in the Vulture. wasnt expecting that though!! haha

You made 500k on your first evening of playing ED ? That's very impressive.

Well, technically it was my second evening I guess. I spent an hour or so the night before doing the training and then getting blown up trying to fight stuff in a stock sidewinder.

Then I just wiped my save, removed shields and guns, fitted a fuel scoop and set course for a random system about 300ly away. Broke out the beers, did a basic surface scan of everything I found within 500ls of each star (exclusing belts) and by the time I refound civilisation I had 3 pages of carto data to sell. Lots of systems only worth 2-5k, but quite a few worth 10 times that amount, so it added up quite nicely.

Last night I spent about 250k kitting out a Viper with gimballed weapons to make up for my lack of skill then went and sat at a nav beacon and made that money back within a couple of hours, so quite pleased with that. Keep forgetting to use my kill warrant scanner however...

PPS, I really wish the info panel in the top right could be configured to show a list of celestial objects, stations and nearby ships, etc, as in Eve. The info and nav systems in this game are ridiculously clunky.

PS, what advantage do the more expensive kill warrant scanners give?

Id like to know this to , i was looking at them last night, cause all i can see is above the basic they just cost more and eat more energy. So dont see the point in getting the top of the range cause there seems to be no change between then higher versions unless im missing something o.O

Longer range of activation, 2, 2.5, 3 and 4k if memory serves. I just have it bound on all fire groups. Uses a little power blipping off and on but i can live with that.

It really needs to be key bound tbh. Cycling through fire groups is a pain same as the D scanner.

When i looked there were 3 all with the same range but all different price and energy consumption .. kinda weird maybe they messed up the range listing ? or my eyes were messed up .. ill look again hmmm

I usually have 2 firegroups.

Lasers + KWS and another with Lasers + MCannons.
Means KWS mainly and if a larger target, change to next grp and finish it off.

On vulture just have one firegroup tho :P

As stated, only the range changes. I find C fine for me.

How do you guys find dumbfire missiles?

Put some on by mistake, meaning to put on seekers. They do some nice damage, but hitting anything seems to be difficult. Or is it just cause I suck?

Also, missiles seem darn expensive to replace...

Just looked again now. 2x 3KM range and 2x 4KM range, scan time all the same but price just increases. You would think for the higher cost you would have better scan time or better energy consumption.

mass 1.30
rating B
power draw 1.60
ranger 4KM
scan time 10
price - 365,698

mass 1.30
rating A
power draw 3.20
ranger 4KM
scan time 10
price - 1,097,095

In most games with dumbfire missiles their better used against smaller capital ships that don't need torpedo level warheads to bring down but equally aren't so manoeuvrable it's impossible to line up a straight shot against them.
