Ugh :/ Do you at least have a security light? That can be a bit of a deterrent for things like that.

Nope, but could probably do with one!

Did he not note down the registration? :(

Nah, only noticed the van when they were getting in their car, and as soon as they started reversing the van sped off.

I think I'm going to move the bikes back into the house until I've taken a couple more steps to secure things...

That's a great route. Two or three stages i could potentially go along to. The Hartside summit is notoriously one of the tougher parts of the C2C so it'll be interesting to see how the pros find it.

Brilliant news for me as they come pretty close to my home when they ride through Norfolk. I'm coming off nights but I should be back in plenty of time to get cleaned up and get a good spot somewhere. Now to plan the best viewing place or maybe I could get to see it in 2 places if I really put some thought into it.

I have a Joe Blow Sport II. It looks pretty similar to the Max II but can manage a bit higher pressure (the Max II can do 120psi, which is more than enough for normal road bike tyres).
It's a great pump. Mine is getting old now (5 years) and doesnt lock onto valves as well as it used to. You just buy a new head for it, saves buying a whole new pump :)

I've just recently bought the Joe Blow Sport II and it does the job very well. Easy to fit on and off and a couple of quick pumps and the pressure flies up no problems. The gauge is halfway up the cylinder so easy to read too.

wonder If I got the nerves for that much climbing?! any rides that you're doing this summer?

commute on SS was interesting! fast bike once you get going but getting of the line takes some work.

I've just started looking at events in the run up to the LondonSurrey 100. The Compact 50 is a double header Sat / Sunday with The Spring Onion, both out of Cobham and both about 50 miles.

There are a fair few sportives going out of Dorking in the next couple of months I just have to clear dates with the EPO (Enjoyment Prevention Officer).

I find that with SS you start reading the traffic much more and slowing earlier as you don't want to come to a stop.

Not to hail the end of winter too soon, but i'm trying to decide between trying a women's electric razor or a safety razor out to see if they make leg shaving any easier. Any input?

Best way I've found is to use my beard trimmer until things are short, then I just use a mach 3.

50 miles would probably be bang on for me with that much climbing(crap at hills)

Re SS, yes I have noticed that I started doing just that at the end haha! :) does make things easier for sure.. I feel like I'd ruin my knee's if I kept up with the normal start/stop in London.

plus my legs were tired today after leg day and massive quad pain so I'm not in the best of shapes..

I do like the look of this route tho -;

That aint much... ;).

comes from a guy that used to call speedbumps a hill ha ;) I DONT CARE THAT YOU LIVE IN THE ALPS NOW :mad:

Hum think I've seen you mention that before.

Tbh the amount of time I spent researching, I could not find anything that hit my requirements/pricing as much as this bike, and I must have spent about an average of 45 minutes per day for about 2 weeks solid researching :D

Prefer the look of the Whyte though..

It's only available through Evans right? And only available in that lurid Cyan..

Understandable but the hydraulic shimano brakes are going to be a massive improvement over the Hy/Rds (I say that as someone that owns and likes the Hy/Rds).

This is definitely the best way - at least the beard trimmer first thing. After that use whatever razor you like best.

Friday is de-hairing day! The beard goes, and the legs will be shaved. And a leaner, slimmer*, faster**, fitter*** platypus will emerge from hibernation.

*I've lost 2 kilos this winter!
**I doubt it
***Done loads of core sports so hoping it will pay dividends!

I've been in shorts for the last few weeks but so far I've not shaved anything. Kind of tempting as I used to shave but I've also enjoyed the lack of faff in not bothering :p
