*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

I can't wait to start playing at midnight tonight. I intentionally went to bed early last night so I'm not tired today, and I'm giving myself until 2am to have a crack at the beginning. I've got a lovely quiet weekend planned as well, so pretty much nothing to do but play Bloodborne. I've even convinced the wife that tomorrow is pizza night as I get my first paycheck from my new job as well :D

I remember Destiny on its release and the hype train was going full speed - the game has a huge fan base which is good - but I just didn't see it, I played Destiny and just thought meh.

Destiny is a funny one. All the gameplay elements were brilliant. Weapons were great, graphics were great, raids were great, playing with mates was great but it ultimately failed in my eyes because come a point it was 100% a grind. You grind to upgrade weapons and armour, you grind to find new items, to farm material. Then they took the pee by releasing a small update for far too much money and making all those hard earned weapons and armour underpowered again.

I have bloodborne pre-ordered and i'm in the same boat as you. I have never played a souls game but there is literally not a bad review out there. Most are giving it 9/10 and thats considering the long load times so I assume once those are fixed it will be even better.

Preloaded last night. Nice to get the new ps4 firmware as well in time for this.
Still well chuffed I got this for £30!

Does anyone know if patch 1.01 fixes the loading times or is that a future fix?
Noticed I'm on 1.01 version under game info

Shame the games shot up in price lately, can't bring myself to purchase games over £40. Noticed the price has hiked considerably since the reviews.

Buy it digitally then. It's £49.99 on PSN but there are plenty of deals around that let you get £50 of credit for around £40. I think there's a good Paypal deal people have been using for it.

You need a US address for Digital purchases , just add a random one and make it your temporary address for the PSN vouchers. I think I used SCEA.

FYI I did it like this.

  1. Set up a US PSN account (used a McDonalds address I've used before for Amazon lol)
  2. Buy the game from Amazon.com (digital code)
  3. Redeem Code on US PSN account
  4. Set US PSN account to 'Primary PS4'
  5. Log back into UK account
  6. ???
  7. Play!

So got it a couple days early and for £40.31 (Nationwide don't charge me for foreign transactions, YMMV).

Yeah suppose digital is the cheapest method at the moment. You could always use the mobile top up offers too, bit of faffing but I've just got £80 of credit for £40.

I find digital so much better when you know you can get the game a lot cheaper than a physical copy. It also has its advantages.
Bought last night from the psn store using my tablet, ps4 is in rest mode, took about 1 hour and 20 minutes to download the game. brilliant!

I've been watching a lot of streams of this is it me or is the a.i non exitstant the enemies seem so stupid ? example those giant dudes on the steps with axes just run behind them and mash at their legs they don't even follow you ? the pathing and a.i seems incomplete to me.Seems the only reason it's hard is the damage enemies can inflict.

Boomerang have come through for me. I wasn't expecting a copy on release, but I've just had the email saying it's been posted. :)
