*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

Exactly the same here, each fight with him seems different, when he jumps it's easier as you just roll forward dodging his landing and hit him from behind but sometimes he does not do that at all instead smashing his arms all over the place and pretty much impossible to not get hit.

You should try farming(or buying) Molotov cocktails. Get him down to half health conventionally then start lobbing molotovs at him. If you have 10 you should be able to take the remainder of his health off.

Thank God - thought I was the only one going mano-a-mano with the first wolf. Got him down to about 1/4 of his life before someone told me I needed to equip my weapons - four slashes and he was gone - i was like woot, that it? :D

I'd heard the game was hard but flippin eck I was gunna give up using just my fists lol

I knew this would be a problem when bloodborne got so much press. It is not for everyone. Demons souls was probably a bit more 'niche' but didn't get anywhere near the amount of press that blooborne has had.

I love it. I think I like it more than demons souls, which i like more than both of the dark souls games. I spent days playing battletoads on a gameboy when I was young. I couldn't be bothered to play through the order 1886 even though it looked great etc. I think I did about 3 hours of that before I got so bored that I couldn't even make myself play any more of it

I've not played Demon's or Dark Souls before, but despite the difficulty I've been really enjoying the game....until the third boss, it just seems impossible for me to do, once I've been hit once there's an immediate flurry that insta-kills me with nothing I can do about it.

I've had to look at guides on how to do it and I'm still nowhere near managing it, they all seem to say get behind etc etc, but I'm pretty sure that's impossible. Any time I can get behind them they instantly turn as well before my dodge animation has stopped. Makes me wonder if most of the guides are templated to some degree, or I'm just rubbish. Either way its becoming infuriating, which is compounded strangely by how much I've been enjoying the game until this point, I don't feel like I'll get anywhere at all with it at the moment.

With all due respect - some peeps are sounding like my kids - losing interest when they get to the first hurdle. Advice: Try, try and try again.

That article sounds like an immature gamer - not willing to try and best a challenge.

I grew up in a generation where a new game came about once a quarter if I was lucky. My kids get everything so they know they don't need to try if they get stuck and just move on to something else - I've been explaining this to them for ages - to succeed in life you often have to try and try again - it doesn't all happen first time.

If I start a game - no matter how crap it is - I insist on finishing it - Bloodborne WILL be finished - just a case of when lol. This is my first RPG and its quite fun - suppose destiny broke me into all this 'farming and levelling up' game style. I already knew it wasn't just going to be a hack n slash a'la Ninja Gaiden stylee.

Here's hoping House of Wolves on destiny doesn't come out just yet lol.

Spot on

Stats to level 27 and weapons maxxed out until I'm able to get the next stage of blood shard....I reckon it's just me lol.

Well, helped someone else to kill him, then found out it doesn't count in my game :(

5 bosses in now!
Just found a really awesome shortcut that sent me waay back and made me think 'omg!' Was amazing to feel how its all connected togeather, not quite as well as souls 1 but still almost spot on

12 hours to defeat cleric beast?

Jesus. You can beat it in about 10 minutes if you know what you are doing, probably more like an hour or two the first time...

I think a lot of people are perhaps missing the shortcut near the boss back to the lamp. That article read as if he was doing the whole level each time. Its easy to miss but i would recommend everyone explore as much as possible and it may save time

Just read this, sums up the feelings and thoughts of a few posters here and perhaps myself in the not too distant future.

Oh boy that article was painful. Refuses to call Blood Echoes by their name yet he can't even spell it right :D

Also complaining about the lack of map, I feel like through one playthrough I have a pretty large grasp on everywhere I have been that I do not need a map, areas are distinct and different enough that I know where I am or going, either laziness or stupidity on his part.

To be clear, there are no checkpoints between the start of the first area, called Central Yharnam, and after you kill the boss.

Except there are massive short cuts you unlock, yet apparently this game doesn't reward exploration according to him? Perhaps if he had explored he'd have found that there is a 30 seconds route to get to the first boss?

Another idea of Bloodborne’s which felt completely disrespectful of my time is that your supply of items is persistent from one life to the next. In other words, if you use up your health potions (blood vials) trying in vain to win a fight, guess what? Those are gone, even though the enemies you used them to get past are back in full force.

It doesn't cross his mind that the idea is you use the 'rally' system or don't get hit? This is a clear design philosophy that you aren't supposed to rely on backing off, playing passive and healing up. It isn't Dark Souls.

In certain positions, it was impossible for me to hit him without being hit myself, so I had to take damage just to rotate him slightly in order to create an opening to attack, and that opening would then close again after I did.

Did he ever think to maybe let the boss move from a position so he could reposition himself into a spot he couldn't be hit? Of course there will be certain positions you can't hit him without getting hit, thats the idea of repositioning yourself?

Not everyone is going to like this(these) games but he's simply spewing false information(opinions) and seems to be trying to make them come across as facts of the games mechanics. Unfortunately he wants a different game and expects bloodborne to play how he wants it too. Unfortunately it isn't designed like the majority of every other game out there so something being alien to him he can't get to grips with it.
