I beat him just now. Made sure I had 20 vials and took my time. It was actually quite easy once I understood his patterns. Just wait for the right moment. I played it 2H axe.

The beast carrying your echo's after you die glows blue. I was killed by one of the big werewolves (bridge) in the lower area where the dogs are (didn't think they'd follow me that far!). When I went back one of the dogs was glowing and he had my echo's.

Omg omg omg I've done it. I've lkilled the sodding cleric beast. I restarted the entire game, and I killed the bugger on my forth attempt.

Once you find shortcuts getting to the boss to retry took me less then 30 seconds..

I feel so bloody chuffed. Lol

Finally beat the first two bosses today! Beat both on my third try, think using the cane is a bit of a handy cap if my twitch chat was anything to go by! I also got trolled pretty hard by the game, I will spoiler the video incase people don't want to see any type of spoilers.

Haha nice one. I was actually shaking by the end if it lol

Now on to Father Gascoigne!

Yeah me too, I was like down to his last quarter health and I just went in heavy and used blood virals so I was 100 % health and I pressed the r2 down, and then after a few seconds left go. It took a huge chunk out of him. And then it was just a matter of hacking away at his legs. I was drenched in blood lol .

I'm still sorta shaken , but so pleased I did it. I don't normally quit games. So to finally beat the first boss that has proved so troublesome and even reach has in fact given me some much needed confidence in the game.

I'd always advise going into a boss fight with your maximum capacity of blood vials. Though as you get more familiar with the mechanics, you'll find yourself using less and less until you come across a new type of enemy with particularly punishing attacks.

That's the beauty of these games. The sense of reward once you break through another barrier is like no other game. Its tough but you have to persevere and you will be rewarded. I find the early bosses are always a bit harder and later on with better gear or a familiar weapon set and better movement things go down a lot easier.

Still no closer on my tenth go at the cleric boss:confused:

One minute I go in and he jumps over me so I can get a shot from behind. But the next time he hardly does that instead does powerful fist punches going forward that are immensely difficult to avoid. So darn tough. Given up for today I think.

Just failed on Cleric without getting a hit in. I saw one video where it barely moved and he was just hitting from behind all fight but I can't do that as mine just backs away all the time. Couldn't dodge one attack either as I Struggled to see when it was going to do so.
I might get it done one day but I can't see me getting much farther.

Exactly the same here, each fight with him seems different, when he jumps it's easier as you just roll forward dodging his landing and hit him from behind but sometimes he does not do that at all instead smashing his arms all over the place and pretty much impossible to not get hit.

Took Father Gascoigne down on the second attempt, I think having played Demon Souls multiple times is making this game feel a bit easier than it should, most likely as I am not charging in anywhere like a nutter, but taking my time.

Did a crap load of exploring in the next area and found a load of dead ends but no bosses, must have missed something will play again tonight.
