Opens up a bit after Father Gascoigne. Do it man!

!makes happy dance

beat father :)

Will have to give him a try, as there doesn't see to be much else to do.

Farming is too slow now as it is 2800 to increase a stat and there just aren't enough big enemies (plus loading times between Hunters Dream). I really want to upgrade my weapon to +3 but am not finding any more shards.

Really need to spend more time with bloodborne. Absolutely loving it but just not had time due to work. Off this weekend so hoping to get in some good play time although it won't help that I picked up Dark Souls 2 for the PS4 today. :p

What weapkns are you guys now using then?

Im using Ludwing holy blade +6 atm and still enjoying it though i prefer the exotic look and feel of the more 'bloodborne' weapons, tgis one feels like something from souls

I do have a lightning mace but doesnt seem as good atm as i havent spent many points in arcane to benefit from the lightning damage

Dear lord, nearly had a heart attack. Sitting on 90k blood echoes with no idea where to go and no idea where the areas lantern was.

I start to panic if I am carrying 10k let alone 90! Just killed the annoying machine gun dude on top of the building. Great place to farm. Also met a ninja female there who I managed to down. Glad you guys are starting to finally down some bosses and progress. Feels amazing doesn't it?

Well just have the Chalice Dungeon trophy to get the Platinum for this. Really enjoyed exploring the world on my first run through the game and the change in pace of the combat was a great addition.

Didn't have to refer to a guide for anything which is a 1st for a Souls game. All the items were found by searching which I enjoyed doing.

It felt a lot more like a Souls game than I thought though and certainly made it easier than expected. Still challenging in parts though but really the parrying window is a bit large IMO which was my only tiny gripe on an otherwise perfect experience.

Just heading into the Woods in NG+

Looking forward to delving more into the hidden lore on subsequent runs as it doesn't make that much sense yet. Just piecing it together.

10/10 for me though. Loved every second of the game.

I'm still pretty early on in the game, exploring Old Yharnam. Question, is it worth leveling up multiple weapons? My Saw Cleaver is +3 now, I need twin blood stone shards to level it further which I have not seen, have 10 single stone shards though and was thinking of giving the axe try. Thoughts anyone?

It's important that you fortify as much you can your weapon with that blood shardes or how are called + update your HP and stamina.

Hmmm. My weapon is +3 but I guess I can't get it higher as I need twin shards or something that I haven't come across yet.

I tried him without levelling up anymore (I have 15 for endurance and vitality) and I can easily get him down to his second form now (But if he switches to his 2 handed axe he beats me). But once he transforms to the huge thing he is too fast. I think it would be easy if all the tombstones weren't in the way!!

I can't be bothered to grind to increase my health as it is 3800 echoes per upgrade which just takes too long.

I am sure I will beat him after couple more attempts, I just need to learn his second form a bit better.

Sounds great i will go for the platinum too! Will be my first on ps4!

Has anyone actually been invaded yet? A few mates put this game off due to thinking you get hassle all the time but im some 20 hours in and havent seen a soul, except ghosts and replays ofc

Try the axe without upgrades and see if you like the style of it first but there's no real shortage of the single stone shards and you can farm them later anyway so if you like it then upgrade that too :)

You have two weapon slots for each arm that you can switch using the d-pad so quite a few people will run with a weapon for normal/group encounters and one that is better for the larger enemies or bosses.

Are you using the Tiny Music Box? That will stun him so you can land a few free hits. You can use it 3 times in his human form and once in his beast form but be careful because once you use it 3 times he will transform even if his health isn't that low.

In the beast form, molotovs can be helpful.

Without spoiling anything, there are some interesting sidequests / covenants in this game and I'd urge people to hunt them out.

I explored every nook and cranny and some really cool quests I followed through were:

Eileen the Crow
Alfred
Arianna

The last 2 in particular had my mouth open gawping at the screen with how they ended.

I also heard people moan about the end boss but I found the end boss to be a good fight.

Also the way the world was all connected ala Dark Souls was brilliant. It really felt like you were part of this city/area and every location had meaning to it - unlike DS2 where locations were just totally random.

Anyone else noticed the odd goings on if you accept the invitation to Cainhurst Castle?
The way you arrive there, then when you look at your starting point...It really made you feel like you were out of your depth coming here.

Basically, to all those still earlier in the game- look around because there are some seriously cool optional stuff in this game - some better than the story parts.
Just keep tabs with NPCs regularly and go back to areas to follow up on things. Well worth it.
