Anyone else noticed the odd goings on if you accept the invitation to Cainhurst Castle?
The way you arrive there, then when you look at your starting point...It really made you feel like you were out of your depth coming here.

Went here last night and thought the same when i looked at the start point, was like omg! :)

Had a good run on Gasgoine, had like 5 parrys on the trot but when he turned I just got destroyed without being able to move.

Played about an hour tonight. Mainly just trying to get used to the fighting mechanics with the axe. I have died about 4 times or so. However I am very disappointed with the frame rate and scenery 'popping'. Game has felt very laggy and things are literally popping up on the screen as I walk into an area. Does anyone else get this?

Will hopefully be able to play some more tomorrow :)

I played about 30 hours and did notice the popping twice, and the framerate dropped in 1-2 locations but only for a brief second or two.

Not sure why some have it worse than others - maybe some are lucky, or some are unlucky but 99% of the time it ran perfectly for me. But those issues are there - just depends how often they crop up I guess.

I've had a 90 min session tonight and although I have enjoyed it I have been a little disappointed as I blasted through the Witches and Blood Starved Best, to make bosses 4 and 5 for me, although perhaps going out of the "normal" order and talking Amelia third made them seem easy.

Either way 1 shot both of them.... I am level 46 don't feel like I have done any farming so not sure if thats high or not for the bosses I have killed.

Will agree , game has loads of secrets to find, I'm ploughing hours into this game. Defected 6 bosses so far but found loads of shortcuts and opening gates and just finding loads of new areas and stuff.

Frame rate has dropped a few times. Mostly when entering fog, boy does that lag, and game does suffer frame pacing, which feels like drops.

But overall, loads to do..

damn the boss fight that I just did was intense as hell that my heart was going crazy near the end lol. Its was one of the bosses close to the end.

Amygdala was the one which is an optional boss but very tough. Had to coop it with another and he died with about 30% left and I managed to bright the rest of it down myself. really fun and intense boss fight

Well just have the Chalice Dungeon trophy to get the Platinum for this. Really enjoyed exploring the world on my first run through the game and the change in pace of the combat was a great addition.

Didn't have to refer to a guide for anything which is a 1st for a Souls game. All the items were found by searching which I enjoyed doing.

It felt a lot more like a Souls game than I thought though and certainly made it easier than expected. Still challenging in parts though but really the parrying window is a bit large IMO which was my only tiny gripe on an otherwise perfect experience.

Just heading into the Woods in NG+

Looking forward to delving more into the hidden lore on subsequent runs as it doesn't make that much sense yet. Just piecing it together.

10/10 for me though. Loved every second of the game.

Well played mate, well played!

Yeah the bosses are very easy, I can only see Phaal and the Shadow 3 giving people serious trouble. Phaal rekt me for about an hour and the Shadows were a close fight, but otherwise I'd say the other hunters you run into are much harder than the bosses.

I spent over 4 hours trying to get to the Cleric, almost gave up as i just could not get past the giant guys and my timing for the parry would not work.

Gave it one last attempt and started to nail the parry and visceral attack, so kept going, i grinded out my guy so i could buy all the cloth's on offer and fortify my weapon, then headed to the Cleric, was expecting to take a few attempts but beat him first go  was well chuffed, Moving on to father Gazza though was a different story.

Not only did he kill me withing second's i found it really hard to move and got stuck on tomb stones a lot, will try again later tonight.

Have to say, if you are stuck and like me almost giving up, just keep trying as you will get it.

Rather than give up, why not just ring your bell and get someone to co-op?
I honestly think some people almost feel ashamed to summon help at times. I've never thought there was anything wrong with summoning help, especially if you're struggling. I've done it before and no doubt will do it again in the future. Sometimes just seeing how someone else approaches the fight is enough for you to beat it solo the next time.

A lot of people give up before you get to the stage of getting the bell.

Ahhh yeah good point lol That first level is brutal, though I didn't have too much bother with the first boss.

Yeah i have no shame in summoning help tbh. After a while sometimes it can just become frustrating. Although the level of satisfaction may not be as high when you defeat the boss, I'd much rather do that and enjoy the rest of the game, than just chuck it.

I got the bell and the opposite item that cancels the bell.

How does this work? I have to ring it before a boss fight, wait for someone to join my game then enter the fog? Also I used the play offline mode, does that affect this function?
