*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

Thing is, I've levelled up quite a bit now, and decided to retry the very first level now I've levelled up and upgraded a weapon to +6 and wow I breezed through the whole level within 30 mins, slaughted everything in sight. Sadly the bosses do not reappear.

Enjoyed it though, and even found hidden access to a part I didn't even know existed in the first level.

After such a stuggle with the first level to then revisit with a stronger weapon and higher levelled guy. It made a huge difference. First level isn't hard, its just you're so weak to start off, only the ones that preserve succeed.

And you'll be glad you did. Epic game.

Absolutely loving this game after never playing any of the Souls games. Did take me a while to get into it but onto the 3rd boss at the minute and have opened up most of the shortcuts around that area so think I can actually choose between a couple of bosses.

Best game I have played in a while and even made me buy Dark Souls 2 on PS4 to give it a try once I have completed this (might never happen lol).

Read somewhere that after you kill the enemies so many times they stop respawning in Dark Souls, is this the same for Bloodborne or just a rumour?

I got the bell and the opposite item that cancels the bell.

How does this work? I have to ring it before a boss fight, wait for someone to join my game then enter the fog? Also I used the play offline mode, does that affect this function?

Yeah ring the bell when you are near the start of the boss and wait, sometimes folk will be around and can help.

You need to play online, i assume you can jump between the two of them? Although i believe when you ring the bell it also opens you up to be invaded by an idiot wanting to kill you

Only in zones where you get a bell ringing woman spawning. If when you ring the bell and a player joins, you don't see the notification about a sinister bell, you're safe from invasion.

This is what I was unsure about. I started in the offline mode as the game was still downloading so online was unavailable.

I will try switching, but that will be at the next boss if I get stuck and don't enjoy the farming/grinding :) I am fairly certain I can beat Gascoigne on my lonesome after a couple more attempts!

only have 1 insight so dont think I will ring the bell then, I think I need at least 1 insight to be able to use the doll for upgrading.

You pick up an item (madman knowledge?) that if used give you insight. There are a few around in the first level so if you don't have any have a look around for them.

Bought ps4 just to play the game. Can't wait to play it tonight for the first time. Ps4 delivered this afternoon.

Good to hear. My one tip - do at least check around the hunters dream after your first death for a few gifts, otherwise you can waste a *lot* of time swearing at the screen trying to slap things to deah (both myself and a friend did this :o)

Is the Hernwick chapel lamp only one way?? I use to to get to hunters dream, but i cant go from hunters dream to there?

You're kidding? Lol

Bloody game!!! Lol

Don't worry, I did the same. Nothing in this game is explained other then the notes on the floor at the beginning of the game .

Guess from software saved a lot of development time by totally skipping any sort of ingame tuition or guide... In this game, you learn as you go by trying or reading it online..

So bored of the Gasgoine fight, I never seem to have a window to use the music box, I cant seem to dodge any of his attacks as he seems so fast and the run there is getting boring.
The Cleric Beast as frustrating as it was at least took me a while to die. One attempt I got stuck right at the start on a gravestone and died within 5 seconds.
I think it's time to summon help, hope it's someone good!

Noxia: I was in your shoes just yesterday.....

Cleric: oil + molotovs
Gasgoine: be behind small tombs, after he transforms do similar + use music box for quick asceral attack from behind.....

You were supposed to use a music box for Gasgoine? I found him by mistake and one shot him, just by dodging and hitting him thinking it was a super easy fight. Damn i knew i missed a few things and optional stuff during my playthrough but didn't know that.

I've started NG+1 now, managed to defeat the last boss last night it was a good fight.

It's the music tinder box. Use it when he goes into his second phase rage. He hates it. The music makes him cry.. Basically have it assigned in quick select. Soon as he transforms into his second form. Press square. Go and smack him up with r2. Then when you run out of steam, perry him. He will be stunned go in again heavy r2 and watch him fall.

Boss down.

You can cheese this, you'll need the threaded cane but if you hide behind gravestones and you can whip him through the stones as he approaches.. Run around the grave stone whipping him and then as I said above tinder box when he transform's to his second from.

I just major cheesed it, the co-op person who turned up wrecked him whilst I basically loitered and rung the bell for him lol. I enjoy the game but not the boss fights so much.

Ah well that's all over then. I enjoy the boss fights when I know how to fight fair but when I get a smsck down as I didn't understand how to play to be in a chance of winning then I do get frustrated.

I'm stuck on a boss now.

shadow of yharnam sod this guy. Hes three guys and you kill one. Tjd other two get stronger... I've yet to work it out. I think I need to get each one down in health equally and kill all three at once..
