The further I get in this game them the more I start to think I should have spent my echoes more wisely, i've spread them too thin.
I'd start over but I must be nearing the end now, currently running around in some shiny armour with a +5 samurai sword but still getting owned the some wolves in a some guys nightmare.

What's the deal with the dungeons? I see people sharing the code to dungeons they find with really good loot, so others can join them? Are these dungeons people have made?

I feel the same as I spent 3000 on a sword/hammer thing last night that I didnt even want. Ive ploughed my echoes into strength, vitality and endurance (all up to 20) and skill which is at 18. Im not too far into the game really though so there is time

I killed the Church Dweller thing last night and then felt bad. I then looked on the wiki and as usual there is a series of extraordinary events to achieve half the things in the game.

They are randomly generated and come with a code so you can then share that dungeon code so people get the same one. As far as im aware, ive not really looked into that stuf yet

What's up with the frame rate on this, i'm hoping it's only stuttering away because I have a game downloading in the background?

The wolves on the bridge will follow you down some stairs into the house if you let them chase you. They then cant get in to the house so you can pick them off easily. Farmed a load of souls doing this last night and beat father Gazza on the first attempt

Thanks for that tip. Makes getting past them MUCH less of a hassle.

Just did Father Gascoigne on my second try. Heart is pounding and I'm physically shaking. God damn.

Frame rate is utter tosh in parts but the deal is they couldnt do 60fps properly even if they wanted to. Like the other dark souls games, hit points are worked out by the time a weapon is spent in the enemy. As 30fps is frame, skip a frame,frame,60fps would bork the hit points. Its why dark souls was a lot harder on pc once you modded it to 60. Found that out from the escapist podcast yesterday.

I have to say as well that Im rubbish at these type of games but father gazza was pretty easy once you realise he only has a 3 strike pattern to dodge. I only used 4 potions

I had to admit defeat and get a co-op player to help me beat Father G. All done and onto the next part.

For the record I hate Father G, he is a total and utter git :(

Thanks guys, I feel even better now :(

I'm also getting frustrated with Father G! annoying as it's obviously a big blocker to progress. To get help, do you just ring the bell before the fog and wait?

I'm finding the 'music box' method a bit tricky - When I tried it, I'm sure he transformed much sooner, or is that just me? I've found the last few times just taking him on normally he doesn't transform until down to about 30% health which should make it easier, although i'm still dying and spending huge amounts of blood vials, so after 3-4 goes I have to go back to farming for them :(

Tactic for killing Father G:

Use the gravestones to trap him on the other side then slash away at him to get him down to half health and he will transform. Don't need to use the music box on him at all at this stage.

Only have one chance with the music box after he transforms, use it to get a heavy heavy charge attack on him which will severly knock down his health. After that run and doge lots and take down the little amount of health he has

Finished this game completely last night including all the optional stuff. absolutely loved it!. Best game on the ps4 by a mile and one of the first games in a very very long time that iv not been able to put down and wanted to finish. Couldn't get enough of it and im someone who didn't really like the souls games that much but loved this. Just the atmosphere and world is so much more appealing and the combat feels more fast paced and fun which suits me more. Game of the year so far.

@oli collett/zoomee
I did exactly what zoomee says for the first 2 phases, could even do it without getting hit after attempt 300575755 ....but the 3rd phase I just couldn't do. Tried several different methods legit, several different cheese methods and still nope.

To get help, I waited just before the fog and rung the bell yea. My knight in shining armour turned up and then we kicked his ass first time :)
