*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

As I often do I decided to start the game from scratch. Interesting things happened, first I found an item in the sewers I didn't previously see, I got some attire that I had previously purchased after buying the first time round and to top it off I killed the cleric beast solo first time.
Feel like so,etching is odd though as it simply didn't feel that easy first time round, I'm also using saw blade.

Frame rate is utter tosh in parts but the deal is they couldnt do 60fps properly even if they wanted to. Like the other dark souls games, hit points are worked out by the time a weapon is spent in the enemy. As 30fps is frame, skip a frame,frame,60fps would bork the hit points. Its why dark souls was a lot harder on pc once you modded it to 60. Found that out from the escapist podcast yesterday.

I have to say as well that Im rubbish at these type of games but father gazza was pretty easy once you realise he only has a 3 strike pattern to dodge. I only used 4 potions

You can add me too your friends list my id is marksmagicmmc

Cheers all

First game in a long time Im just itching to get back to it when Im not playing it. The further you get in the game the better the monster design and world gets. Its a 10 out of 10 for me.

I just beat the Witch (was easy) and am now fighting Amelia. She beat me but I think I just need a few Molotovs to help win the fight.

I think after this the only area left that will open up is the Forbidden Woods, I have reached a dead end everywhere else I can access. I'm guessing Amelia will give me the password for this.

So far I have managed with the Threaded Cane. I powered up the rifle spear, but don't like it. My 2nd weapon is the shotgun. Is there another sword style weapon I can buy/find? I notice I have some crescent shaped gemstones but they don't fit in my 2 weapons. I guess the shapes are specific to weapons or weapon classes.

I've kinda missed all that, Amelia etc...think I need to backtrack...most doors in yahrnum or whatever it's called are locked to me. No idea but it's fun all the same.

Tip for Gascoine: Parry him, he's the easiest boss in the game. On New Game + I killed him in about 20 seconds, parried him from start to finish in about 7 visceral attacks. You can parry his beast form and it's even easier to parry than his human form.

I really do love a challenge, but there's a certain tipping point where it stops being fun and think "why am I doing this?", sure this point is different for different people.

But the straw that broke the camels back came for me when I saw that YouTube vid of the guy finishing the game without levelling up, I then tried to emulate just how EASY he did Gascoigne's 2nd form.
Basically, my game bore no resemblance at all to how his was acting and how his boss was seemingly stuck in an easily cheesable loop and after I had reached my (probably) 50th attempt on Gascoigne, I decided that selling the game wasn't good enough and it needed punishing :p :D

50 attempts on Gascoine? Jesus. Though dude, nobody has been punished by snapping your disc but yourself, you just lost money and looked like a prat on the internet. :(

I dont think its a spoiler to as an answer but once you finish the game does it roll straight in to new game plus, or can you carry on past the last boss to tidy up loose ends etc? I assume it carries on due to the focus on chalice dungeons?

NG+ immediately begins after the credits, you have to tidy up before fighting the final boss.

Yeah, you need to defeat Amelia to progress further. I found her quite hard despite her apparently being easy. One thing that helped me a lot was using the flamethrower weapon, I got behind her and took half her health out with that and then used blood bullets to knock out most of the rest.

I was getting on ok with this game. Until I run up against that stupid huge spider, 10 attempts solo two co op all failed.

I'm going to assume you're doing all the things i'm about to mention but just to make sure:
Always stay moving unless you're hitting boss, hit boss just once at a time to be safe and avoid the spiders dive bombing you
Ignore the adds
Stay in relatively close proximity to the boss, I found he spams his missiles if you move too far off
Hit the bosses side or rear, he has an armoured head

My general strategy was to goad the boss into using his close range AoE attack by running near him, moving out of the blast radius, then going in for a hit after the he uses the AoE. The missiles are generally easy to ignore and not really a concern and spiders aren't a problem if you keep moving.

Hmm, it's when he turns that I'm always getting killed. Find every time I get close he just unleashes a big attack I can't dodge and then he basically one shots me :(

Will keep trying the parry

Is there a way to get rid of insight other than summon as I have 15 and all the enemies have new attacks and are kicking my ass.

Theres an insight vendor in the hunters dream. It looks similar to the other vendor but it's just outside one of the workshop doors

thank you so bloody much. I was going in for the head and wondered why I wasn't getting far. Head hits have worked for every boss so far. Should have worked that out. Just took the bugger down. Finally. Need to go farming now. I did use s lot of vials on all those failed attempts. But thank you. Funny thing is, guide I read said use bolt paper

Ah I already knew that but forgot it existed as I first saw it when I had none. Thanks. I wish when viewing armour you could compare with what is presently equipped.

Killing Rom with headshots would be an achievement within itself :D
