*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

I beat Rom. I think the 2 options I have next are the castle (boss is too strong for me atm) and also the spider boss at the end of unseen village path.

I rarely save enough echoes to buy good weapons so am sticking with saw cleaver (+8) and threaded cane (+6), especially as the blood stone chunks are really hard to come buy if you want to go +6 or above!

Any estimate to how much of the game I am through? 50% or more? I'm still enjoying it immensely, just wondering how big the game is. I am fairly sure I haven't missed any bosses as I explore very thoroughly.

I think roughly 4 or 5 bosses left for you. Mind you... are you on path for the "true" ending? I only read about it yesterday, but I've already mucked up the conditions so I'm saving that for NG+.

In terms of weapons, I've stuck solely with the Saw Cleaver and Hunter Pistol for the entire game. Can't really be bothered with anything else!

Phew, this game has burnt me out. I've not touched PlayStation since Thursday last week, I needed a break , brutally hard game. But. I'll look at having another go later today I think...

Got to the one reborn last time I played. And he gave me a right good kicking...

I took him down on the second attempt. First was a total failure as one of the 'mass of skulls' enemies from the area behind followed me in and gave me a beating.

Second time, I legged it right up to him, tucked in between two of his smaller legs and just wailed on the flesh sac that sits on the ground beneath him. When the fireballs came in I rolled away and healed when necessary, then headed right back in for another wailing. Occasionally he'll drop his head to the ground -- move over and whack away on that for greater damage, then return to the sac when he gets back up.

He'll sometimes charge a red AoE -- just leg it away when he does that and then go back in. Takes a few blood vials, but it's pretty simple.

I'm pretty ashamed to say it but I used cheesing tactics quite a few times in this game.

3 guys in Yahargul, lure one or two away and kill them separately.

Nasty thing that can't get through a doorway or is stuck somewhere behind a wall? Use the charge attack to hit it through the wall.

Another thing people should bear in mind is that different weapons work WAY better on some monsters than others. I was pulling my hair out trying to kill Martyr Logarious with my sword and when I swapped to my weaker cleaver he went down so easily.

Those 3 guys in Yahar'Gul -- I've tried luring them but it doesn't seem to work? On one occasion, I sneaked down the stairs in order to avoid them, only to walk right into one on the lower staircase. Thought I had him separated and easy to take down, then the other two just came running? :(

I mucked up my play trough for the other ending, I didn't realise you had to do things in certain order to get to it, but if I ever do get to see just one ending I'll be amazed..

I take it ng+ makes it even harder? Tbh I don't think I could do another play through on harder difficulties.. I'll be honest. I've solo all boss fights. ROM I tried co op but failed, finally took him down solo using the holy blade with touch paper.. But I've struggled with this game, I think willpower alone is driving me now, as I love the setting and this is making me want to see akl its secrets but.... It's so bloody hard to lay these bosses down at times, even hunter fights and enemies on the way to bosses are bloody hard at times...

And... The creators of this game must have twisted minds. Some of the creatures you meet , they are disgusting things to look at..

These guys were such a pain the in *** for me. I eventually got them down by stabbing the one that uses a claw in the back and taking most of his health off I then kited all of them up and down the stairs where the lamp is, getting a hit in where I could. When I got the first guy down I died and then got a sneak attack on the guy who is on the stairs, same process again.

I couldn't get a sneak attack on the last guy so I had to duke it out with him, it was harder than expected as he hit me a few times with his cannon, which I should have been able to dodge but I have the reflexes of a snail. The encounter with those 3 was easily harder than any of the bosses for me.

NG+ is harder but the only boss I've had more difficulty with so far was Martyr Logarius, you should have the general strategy for each boss by the time you face them a second time. The majority of the bosses died first time on NG+ and i'm not a good player. I've found Rom to be the easiest boss by far so you might want to look at refining the method you use to take him down. Rom and Micolash are the only bosses I think I could take down without getting hit, not that i'm going to bother doing that as I play like a reckless maniac.

Thinking about it I also struggled with the shadows on NG+ but that was because I played this game all day when I first got it and I inadvertently brought about the boss moveset bug when I fought them the first time. I only experienced the fight properly on NG+ so I died 3 times to that boss while I figured out what to do.

I dont see cheesing as cheap in this game. For me the games so challenging that if you find something like that its almost part of the challenge itself. The only one I wouldnt use is the memory leak thing where if you leave the ps4 on overnight everything gets super easy

I thought BSB was easy..... I'm struggling on Amelia!

BSB - just dodge under his right arm swipe and get a few hits in.. keep an eye on the poison - I think I used one antidote.

You are invincible during part of your dodge - iframes. Big part of demons/dark souls too!

Likewise, BSB went down first time, Amelia was a serious pain for me.

I haven't really looked into the endings, but I'm not too fussed. For me it's about the (challenging) gameplay! As long as I fight the same bosses and visit all the areas, i'll just take whichever ending I get on this playthrough.

I've managed to get by just with experience from Demons Souls and the odd hint in this thread. Half the fun is learning the strategies and trial and error. BUT, as a result I think I am missing loads of small items and quests as I have actually killed most of the NPCs along the way :D:D

For NG+, do you get to keep anything from your first playthrough or is it just the same game, with harder AI?

Can't wait for exams to finish so I can pick this up :D

The longest summer holiday I will ever have and it will probably be eaten up by Bloodborne :o

You keep all your weapons and such. Your character is in the same state you finished the game with. I've not really noticed the enemies having better AI, they just hit harder and take more punishment

Question-on the third level there is a guy who is praying at a small alter, did you kill him, talk to him or both? I talked and received his gifts but I went to kill him and he nearly took me down so I ran!

For those struggling with Amelia, the flamethrower weapon is quite effective, just get behind her and start firing until you run out of ammo and it'll take out a decent chunk of health.

erm which 3rd level? cathedarl ward? can you be more specific, where?

http://bloodborne.wiki.fextralife.com/Maps

Cathedral ward. You pull a lever which opens a tomb that you travel underneath near the beginning. Instead of entering the doorway with said lever there is one to the left of that with the old man praying at the alter at the bottom of some steps
