I'm totally stuck. I ended up in some prison. I have no items and I can barely scratch any of the enemies. Very frustrating because until now I found it hard but fair and this seems like I'm just not supposed to be here right now
Just as I write this I randomly run and find a lamp

Same happened to me, i guess you died to a guy with a sack, basically, you need to run up a flight of stairs towards a lamp.

I'm in that area right now but further into the game. And you think its hard now, the unseen village is horrible... But the area you're in is basically a case of run until you get to the lamp. Fighting this early on in unseen village will result in death mostly

Yeah you just missed my edit :)

I did pickup a Moon item though. Not sure what it does. I also killed a pig but then dogs ate me. Think I need to go to Cathedral place now.

Q: if you ring the bell and no one enters your game, do you get the insight back?

No and I found that to be really unfair. I got mixed results with co op. I tried to get help with the shadow of yharnam boss, no one showed, and lost a insight point, tried it twice with ROM boss, I died. And then second attempt my co op gyy died.

Ended up thus fair solo this game. Lol well least I've felt like I've achieved something... No idea how far from the end I am. But I've been playing for hours... Game has so many secrets..

Yeah, running works well...

I got moon thing no idea either. But I got a key which I've yet to work out.

thanks, just tried it and answered my own question. pretty annoyed at that now. :(

Use your insight to buy bolt papers and fire papers from Hunters Dream to help beat bosses. That's what I have been doing as there seems nothing else to really do with Insight. Get it to 10, buy some things, get it back to 10, buy more things. Also the things you buy there can be sold for loads of echoes and really helped me level up faster.

Insight changes the way you see things.

Someone mentioned that with a high insight I can see the invisible arm thing that grabs you in cathedral ward. I just avoid the spot where it happens and there is a noise preceeding it to warn you anyway.

If that's all I'm missing (a few hidden non boss enemies) I am glad I used insight points to buy useful stuff :)

BSB was a tough one. I tried all kinds but yep in the end it was just dodge roll and hit hard.

you can do a running jump too hold down run then hit circle again but hold it down to running jump if you just hit it you will do a roll

Im stuck 30 seconds into the game..... the doors wont open back into the clinic and the free weapons just recieved dont want to equip for some reason?

Ah, found the headstone, still cant equip the weapons mind.

Ya jokin, i r noob mate.

Im wondering if i dont meet some kind of requirement to use the weapons?

If you're just starting, the 3 starter weapons have no requirements pal. If I remember rightly, I picked one from the messenger, went into the in game menu and equiped it, job done.

You can't do it via the inventory by the way, you press the options button, then go down to the 'Arms' squares and select the weapon from there. It's the second row of boxes IIRC.

Woohoo! Beat Gherman on my fourth try, so that's first run of the game complete.

Did up to just after Cleric Beast on NG+ and then a quick Chalice Dungeon run to see what that's all about.

Looking around on YouTube and whatnot, I do seem to have missed a number of bosses and interesting things in the game (side quests). Don't think I'll be done with it for a while yet.

Hell of a game. Definitely worth picking up a PS4 for.
