*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

I'm on my second play through now. Didn't fancy NG+ as there were things I had missed first time round and I wanted to try a different weapon.

Honestly, its been pretty easy with the axe. The two handed charge attack is too easy to use. I've just got my stamina to the point where I can do it twice in a row which is brutal.

The hardest boss so far has been the blood starved beast due to the poison and the fact its hard to get away to heal and it takes aaaages to use the antidote when its after you.

The hardest bit of the game is honestly the first area and boss simply because you are so weak and its easy to die from almost anything.

Im using ludwings holy blade, has b scaling in strength skill and arcane? Ive got strength and skill to 30 but arcane is only 10 should i be pumping that or does that only come in to play if i have an element attached like fire?

I believe so, but putting an element on it really weakens its damage output so I've never bothered. I have noticed the skill scaling on the blade is better than the strength scaling as skill seems to buff the weaker attacks more. I believe there is also a slight arcane scaling on the basic weak attacks, but not enough that you should ever prioritise it.

Ive found that on the BSB's level I can fly through twice in around 25 minutes collecting 30k souls so its bumped my level up a bit. When do I reach this invisible arm as Ive been told it takes you to a secret area?

Hmmm. In cathedral ward there is an invisible arm but I am 90% certain it killed or took health when it grabbed me. Since then I avoided it and run when I hear the sound it makes prior to grabbing you.

The 'invisible arm' you need to reach is right after Rom, you need to have a certain item in your inventory for it to work though

For those that have finished the last boss, what level were you? What weapon were you using at the time?

Just interested to see the spread if any, maybe spoiler tag it as some may be sensitive to such info unsure

I was
64, using a plus 10 holy blade. Probably could have leveled up more but past a certain point i stopped caring about echoes!

Level 43 with Stake Driver+9 for me, I use a Burial Blade+10 now and it's immense!

Is there a level cap on this?

Technically yes, you're attributes won't go higher than 99 so the max level is in the 500's.

You'll get to a point quite early however where it takes a crazy amount of souls to level up, so it would be impossible to get anywhere near that figure anyway.

just rang the bell twice as Im still struggling with Blood Starved Beast and both times its dumped me back at the title screen, and loosing the insight of cource :(

Do you use rest mode? If you put your ps4 in rest mode, then turn it on and continue to play without restarting bloodborne, summoning never works.

Well ,I'm off to fight the BSB. Ive just been grinding out for the last few hours and didn't think to see what my level was...49! Oops I may have got lost in the world for a bit :p

That may be the first time I've ever done that though and the mechanics of this game are a joy to play. This is up there with my favourite games of all time and I'm not even halfway done yet

I found a big drop down pit near cathedral hall and when I've died its taken me to yarghul something or other! I expected to start again and go and grab the echoes I lost but I've woken up in a dungeon... as you do :p

There's no harm in going back at all. Especially if you're struggling with certain sections. The levels are designed with shortcuts that either take you back to the lamps and/or let you bypass parts of a level - finding these (there's usually one or two before each boss) should be the main priority when exploring. It tends to go like this. Explore and die a bunch of times. Gradually learn where the enemies are and how best to beat them. Find a shortcut, go back to the hub world, level up, and carry on exploring until you find the boss. Die a bunch of times until you learn how to beat said boss. Go back to hub world and level up. Rinse and repeat :)

Absolutely go back to other areas, i've been playing to the point of where I feel i'm ahead of the curve, and bosses/areas become obvious that you aren't at the level needed to play through. At those points I go back and do some grinding.

Thanks both.

Played another 3 hours last night, can't actually believe it, I normally game for a few nights a week at around 30 minutes each tops. This game has got me hooked!

Finally finished the first boss now at circa 5 hours in. I've got the feeling I'm going really slow :D
