I think that's winter finally done with. What's our final parts death toll? For me it's one chain and, amazingly, only two punctures.

The chain on my best bike needs replacing. No punctures for me, but then I've not ridden that much this winter. I'm also about to replace a lot of parts on my hack/winter bike once I get it repainted, to get it all up to the lofty heights of Claris spec, but that's years of wear, not just one winter.

French cyclists take it up the Ventoux.

Haha, like that one!

A small "Shut up legs!" sticker on the top tube, for me and no one else.

Great one too!

My favourite is "It never gets easier, you just go faster."

I have a lot of tools for cars so maybe I just need to start getting tools for bikes.

Another tip on a 'missing' tool would be a pedal spanner (depending on your Halfords kit). You'll be very lucky if you already have one narrow enough to fit. A note of warning though, it's worth spending £10-15 or so online on one as pedals can be tight to undo and you want to be able to have them on quite tight! I bought a cheap £12 one from Halfords and bent it in the first use, got a refund and bought the Park Tools one. It's better quality but I still think I've bent mine slightly with only a couple of uses...!

One tip - some pedals have an allen head so you can actually torque/undo them through the back of the crank arm. Pedal spanner for 90% then last/first 10% with torque/allen key! ;)

Besides I picked mine up in a wiggle sale for £3 :p.

I think that's what everyone is waiting for... Wishlisted in preparation! ;)

Lol, I would have said function and comfort was the main thing!

Function is fine but there was no way £25 chinese tights were going to be comfortable - they were worth trying though! ;)

Sadly back in work today so I'll have less time to get stressed about the bike. Took a pic of the progress though. Not far off being ready to ride.

Front cartridge bearings on the SS. I fitted them on Wednesday and I'm so looking forward to using it for the first time since October.

I might even shave my legs this weekend in celebration.

Shaved mine on Wednesday.
I did mine at the weekend
I use a Phillips Bodygroom, smooth enough and less faff!

Bunch of girls! Although that's all -1 giving me more points if I drop you... ;)

Excited for sunday but now even more so!!

Can't wait either, although missed loads of this years races due to it only being shown on Sky/Eurosport... Literally nothing on terrestrial TV or NowTV! Nothing except track on BBC Sport either! :(

I've been reduced to watching YouTube summaries days later! :o

Weather here is glorious today, the wind is loads warmer even though there isn't as much sun as earlier in the week.

Can't decide about the 'shop' ride tomorrow, figuring I'll give it a miss as the mrs is off work and I don't want to start the weekend in bad books... It's also forecast a chance of rain tomorrow morning so I'll prob do an easy 10/15/20 in the afternoon and maybe the same sunday if I have time.

Am heading out with some lads I know on monday after work so saving my legs slightly as I don't know what to expect! All I know is 1 is defo faster than me and another hasn't ridden any distance since autumn...

www.steephill.tv

Full coverage of everything (although I've got a Eurosport Player subscription so I can watch when I'm out and about).

Try http://cyclinghub.tv/livestream - he shows pretty much anything that is live and in HD if eurosport.

Failing that, download Mobdro if you have an android device. All sports channels are on there! :)
