Good work :)

The game actually, slowly, gets easier the more you play and level up. It never gets easy though - death is round every corner!

Very much this. It's also later in the game that it truly starts to feel 'fair'. When you've levelled up a bit and you feel perfectly capable of taking down the majority of enemies, every hit and death feels entirely your own fault.

It's a frustrating start, but when it 'clicks' it's magnificent.

Did a few chalice dungeons and was mocking them for being way too easy then suddenly they have started to get challenging so im happy with that, will keep exploring this stuff as i need to do them to get the platinum

Maybe i should work through ng plus a bit, dungeins are getting a bit harder and keep running out of blood vials

Decided to pop into ng+ and do a few bosses, did cleric beast and father gasdick. Both still offered a challenge which was nice compared to dark souls 2 ng+

I think the problem i may be facing is not having much hp, only spent 18 levels into that and stamina so far. Seemed fine for my first play-through but may have wasted points else where. So now focusing on upping hp a bit so i have more survivability in chalice dungeons. Now have hp to 22 and its made the bar much bigger already so may do better now

Got used to 2 hit killing enemies on my grinding and forgot, went to progress and got my ass handed to me :D

Up to what I assume is the witches level but I cannot find her anywhere? Up to level 55 and started using the holy sword. Looking forward to cracking on with this when the missus goes to bed

Thought it was getting a lot more 'manageable' difficulty wise until last night I stumbled upon the first death dealer. I made it out of the prison easily enough but then spent forever trying to kill the one around the cathedral ward.

I think one issue with this game is that if you do lose patience, it just punishes you more!

What does buying the hunter chief emblem get me? Also how do equip the runes that let you equip more potions?

I think that opens a gate in cathederal area but i went a back way and havent brought that item

Runes are equiped at the alter in hunters dream, need a certain tool first thoigh! You get it along the games path i think

Messengers gift item is quality now that I've started using it more :D I've caught so many people out with it already, made one guy panic so much he backdashed off a cliff lol :p

Have to get the tool then me thinks! Ive probs already been to the area the emblem gets me as well. Just bought the rifle and the flame thrower so I'm on levelling them up to see if they any good

Done 8 bosses now. Things just got interesting after Rom. Insight is at 36 and I can see the invisible hand now...or rather, the thing that the hand belongs to. Eek!

Rom down, first try I got wiped in seconds by two little spiders, second time his blue bolts nailed me but third time I took that sucker down!

Exploring Cainhurst now, some tough enemies to contend with!!

Be wary of the squid monsters that suck your head. I think they appeared just before I reached Rom are just after I beat him. Ignoring the fact they take a lot of your health, I realised my Insight goes down every time they (and maybe other enemies) caught me with that attack. I am now at Insight 0 :( and I didn't even notice till it was too late!

I'm currently farming as I can't do much else. I can reach but not beat the boss in Cainhurst castle, and Unseen Village is too hard even with my +9 Saw cleaver. Same with Nightmare Frontier. I think the fact all my stats are 26 (apart from bloodtinge which is 9) is too low for the part I'm at (with my skill level :D )

Having never played a souls game before, I decided to pick this up on Thursday. I've been playing it for the last few days and just wow.... what a game. I've just defeated the third boss (blood-starved beast) and I've got to say that this is one of the best games that I've ever played.

It seemed brutally hard at first but once you level up a little and get use to the mechanics of the game, it all clicks and it becomes great. I've not felt like this about a game since The Last Of Us was released on PS3 or Shenmue on Dreamcast. Other than the loading times and the odd frame rate drop, this game is a masterpiece.

There's one in the garden just before Rom. I wondered why my insight seemed lower! Man those dudes are horrible I will avoid from now on. Unseen village proper is mega tough. Went there for the first time last night.

I was looking at the achievements and I found out.......
That you need to play through the game 3 times to get all of the trophies if you do it legitimately. I doubt a lot of the people who already have a platinum have done 3 play throughs :p
