Because for a lot of people strava has taken the place of a written training log?
If the speed of the chain matches you can pretty much assume it will be compatible.
I've tried nearly all the chain types you can buy and they're all much of a muchness. Lots of people have brand loyalty or different experiences though. I usually go for whatever is cheapest on CRC or Wiggle - which is often Shimano.
Most times there are two options for amount of links and both will be too many links for your bike so just buy whichever is cheapest and then use the Sheldon Brown technique for working out the correct length when you install the new chain on your bike.
edit: Can't comment on jockey wheels I'm afraid.
The dumb thing is that you can tick something to say it was on a stationary trainer but that actually does...nothing.
I have no brand loyalty as suchbar DHB gear which I simply like because it fits well and is good value for money.
but yeah, I have never replaced a chain that has had less than 2.5k miles on it.
It does on 3rd party sites, like Jonathan O'Keeffe's Strava Annual Summary (super useful) and I think on Veloviewer as well. Sad that other sites make better use of the Strava API than they do themselves!!

I do log all my commutes but I should probably put them as private as they must be a little dull for anyone that follows me.

Same goes for the "Commute" tick....it doesn't filter them in any way that I can see!

I have managed to burn through all brands of chains at ridiculous rates. I'm hoping being a bit better about maintenance on my new bike will reduce that.

KMC make Shimano chains, so a HG73 chain, say, is the same as a KMC X.73 chain. Pick whichever is cheaper. KMC do various variants - L is light, EL is extra light, SL is super light, I forget which is the lightest, but I do recall that the difference is piddly so probably not worth worrying about. They do chains with "ecoteq" coating which are supposed to be more rust resistant, which might be a good idea if you've managed to kill one within 800 miles!
Anyone have any recommendations on other places than Wiggle who are always good on stock/choice? I'm not too worried about price, anything under £30 I guess!
I see Happy Chap on the Strava club has posted another lol-tastic ride 42 miles @ 26.9 mph
I might have to do a turbo ride where I don't hook up any resistance to see if I can beat him.
Even the 11-speed SRAM ones which don't list as compatible with Shimano?

Shimano chains may be "made by" KMC, but that does not mean that they are the same. I'd still recommend KMC branded chains just because they have the master link that makes them a lot easier to install, and even possible to reinstall if you ever have to take it off for whatever reason.
I actually don't mind seeing some turbo rides. Just to see how mad some are. Friend of mine who was in the female nationals last year has managed to do 3hr sessions! Mental toughness doesn't even get close!
Still off work today, but finally feeling bit better so went out on the bike as I couldn't stay in again and felt like my lack of doing anything was contributing to me feeling awful. Quick 12 miles and felt lot better than Saturday when I thought I was better! So shall be back at work tomorrow but going to be sacking off any thoughts of tting this week and just try get some steady miles in before weekend away on stag do!
Are you getting any sense out of your power meter yet?
Trainer rides are a bit silly on Strava, because the speed and distance are pretty meaningless. It's not comparable to actual riding. I wouldn't mind if Strava offered any sensible way to filter them out, but it doesn't.
