Range Rover sport

The 3.0 diesel is MUCH superior to the 2.7 diesel. Much much better. So much better, it is clearly worthwhile stretching for it.

as said all Range rovers are expensive to run even just the tyres ca set you back over a grand for 4, the range sport is also pretty unreliable (not including the new one as that seems to be pretty reliable so far). The full size Range is a better car in all ways in my opinion but yes it is less sporty.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 £748 not to bad.

Did the RRS ever get the 8spd auto instead of the 6? The 8spd coupled with the 3.0 engine is a great combo. Progress is pretty decent for such a heavy vehicle. mine has this powertrain.

Grrr, this kind of talk initiates spending more money! Dam it!

If you're already stretching to go for the 2010 I wouldn't worry about stretching yourself further, I don't think the SDV6 is worth the premium (extra £6k+) unless obviously you can afford it. Going from a 2.7l TDV 2009 to a 3l TDV6 2010 however is well worth it.

Wouldnt say stretching, funds are available although I did kinda of say top myself £20 -£22k tops!

The point was the turn of phrase amused me, I wasn't trying to 'catch you out' or whatever (hence the smiley).

As for the topic at hand, I can't comment on the specifics but in general where cars are concerned you can always spend more money for something a bit better so you have to draw the line somewhere and I would view therefore view Squirrel's point as sound on face value.
