Transexual using female changing rooms?

Many years ago I lived in Holland - the swimming baths there did NOT seperate between the genders and no one batted an eyelid. It's just us the in UK who are so prudish we need seperate facilities.

Not really fooling anyone that is it?

well, us and a few other countries...the Scandinavian countries and Germany have less of a hang up about it too

I mean what are the reasons for separating by gender and how many of those reasons assume that everyone is straight? How many of those reasons would be breached by a transgender individual who is still physically the gender he/she was born?

I will never see the point in having changing rooms for men and women separate in shops. I mean you go in and lock the door. I wasnt allowed to go and see what my partner looked like with some new shorts on because it was a male changing rooms. As if they would all be standing there in one room with their dangly bits out. Its a corridor with cubicles that no one will manage to look in to unless you open the door.

Also not really the point but I find UK to be very ashamed of naked body even with same sex. I just dont know why?

which begs the question of why they segregate them by gender in the first place?

I think it's sort of common sense to have them seperate; and probably for logistical reasons too. usually a mens fitting room for the mens clothing dept', and a female fitting room for the womans clothing dept', which are usually in different parts of a store, and I'd imagine it helps them sort the cloths out that are left at the exit of the fitting rooms that people don't want to buy (they would already be sorted into at least mens / womens clothes)

I don't think they should be unisex by the way. I think in massive shops like primark were there's a vast amount of people trying on clothes every day there's bound to be cases of people accidently opening a curtain or door which isn't secure and walking in on somebody of the opposite sex which may cause upset (and I genuinly think there would be a handful of actual perverts, albeit an absolutly tiny inority / rarity) that would take advantage. When talking about transvestite or transgender they're far far too outnumbered to have to force fully unisex fitting rooms on the general population, so we should just accept whatever choice they make as to which room they want to use.

when I said 'who cares' I was refering to this particular case as I cannot see a bad outcome where a trans'anything' person has used one or the other fitting rooms; I mean seriously - that is the worst that can happen, assuming they're just there to try clothes on.

The morons saying things like 'I would not want my daughter in the same fitting room as this person' etc are being very silly indeed by the way; it's a person trying on and buying clothes in a closed, private cubicle; not a raging perverted sex pest watching women undress.

semi pro raises some very good points on attraction too; listen to him.
