What did you do to your bike today?

Replaced my snapped clutch cable yesterday, rode it into work this morning and it's not perfect seems like every so often the clutch sticks open a little bit so I'll have to spend some more time fiddling with it tonight.

I'd had my CB1000R a month when I crashed it on Brands Hatch. I got most of it fixed, but the fuel tank looked to be over a grand to have it sorted, so I just put a baglux over it.

A month or so back I found one on eBay for £280, had it fitted yesterday when having the spark plugs changed and after 3 years, it's once again looking like it's supposed to!

Nice, love these.

stick the tank cover back on now and protect it

just removed mine after 6 years use and t cutted the tank, its flawless

Why would I have spent £300 then? :D I had been advised just leave it until I sell it, then get the tank sorted, in case I damage it in the mean time.

3 years later, even after being knocked off, no more damage to the tank. I'm glad I've done it, looks a great deal better to me.

Yh true, don't u think they look good though with a tank cover on? Makes them look tougher

Mine looks funny now with it off

It's odd, when I first put it on, I quite liked the look. I remember someone commenting they liked the look it gave too. Now I take it off, I much prefer it without... maybe it's just we all like a change now and then?

**EDIT** For comparison, here is it with the tank cover -

House mate laughed at me the other day when I told her how much my Halfords socket set cost, until I explained that I've saved that a couple of times over already on garage labor charges.

It's also really weird with a new clutch cable, feels so much lighter and nicer then again the old one was in a rather **** state when I took it off after it snapped.

if you can get a trade card you'll laugh at how much they cost lol, most tools are about 50% off or more with a trade card

I got it when they had one of their 50% off sales (I know these are a bit like DFS sofa sales :D) plus 10% cashback plus a few more % cashback for paying through paypal so it wasn't too bad.

I found that the clutch cable adjusters are the cause of snapped cables most the time, they chafe on the cut out slot where you slot in the cable

Mine had just rusted through a couple of inches into the sheath, replaced with a slinky glide cable now so that shouldn't be a problem again.

From all the bits and bobs I've been doing on the bike it looks like it really wasn't maintained in any real way by the previous owner.

Saying that looks like my local place has got some space for me to do my DAS course next month so I shouldn't be on a 125 for much longer :D
