Same here! I eat LOADS of food.. Weighted my evening meal today which included 450grams of chicken + rice + greens the whole plate weighted 1.8kg! I eat 4000+ kcals a day, massive burgers etc and I'm still gaining nothing.. ! Balls.

Was 102kg last May, got to 89kg last Sept, at 92kg again atm but trying to get it off, I struggle loosing it, I'm only 5'8!

I have clicking from the back after tightening the loose spoke up, need to get it to the LBS to be honest.

You're a lucky man, I really struggle to keep my weight down, put it on so quickly if I have a bad weekend. Which can make eating depressing at times. But rather have that than weigh what I used to weigh!

^^ I'm the same. Not been on the bike in 3 weeks and I've put on about half a stone. Making a conscious effort to get back on it this week as I'm making some headway with my workload.

Same as grudas, no matter how much I eat my weight either stays the same or decreases :O

Currently sat at 63kg, and eating around 3,500 - 4,000 calories a day.

My weight is hovering around the 84kg mark at the moment - annoyingly up from the just over 80 I was a few months ago, though some of it is LBM gain at least.

Going to try and get a bit more trim before the end of summer. It has been nice eating tons of junk food but y'know...can't last forever :p

Considering I lost 30kg a few years back I shouldn't have a problem, but just doesn't work atm.

Good effort. I'm down around 15-17 kg so far but the rate I'm losing it is slowly tapering off as I'm adjusting to the miles now.

Need to start controlling the calorie intake and up the mileage!

I seem to sit on 75kg right now! will go down if I go on holidays(odd) but never goes above 75..! which is quite annoying since I am trying to get bigger/stronger!

I seem to be packing more "defined" muscle as such but numbers on the scale don't change.. lolworthy.

Just get yourself a proper dose of viral flu - that'll sort your weight right out.

13st 6lb before Etape last Sunday morning, this morning 12st 8lbs. I feel like someone has actually sucked the energy and life out of me in total. NEVER ever had anything like that. 7 days of total wastage, 4 days in bed, couldn't move etc. Coming into the summer time and I feel like i'm back to square one as I have no energy at all.

As a side issue - not sure if it's been mentioned - Zwift.com is now in open beta and can be downloaded without invites.

I'm sitting at 86kg atm which is down from 91kg at the start of the year. I binned the gym membership so have lost some muscle off my upper body as I dont do weights anymore but i'm defo slimmer and feel good.

I have between 2000-3000 calories a day depending on what cycling or running I'm doing. Been around 84kg mark now for about 4-5 months but still loosing a little in waist so can only assume that's trading fat for LBM. Scales say I'm now down to 19% fat, but was closer to 25% in Jan, but I always take those scales with a large chunk of salt.

Ninja edit as just realised...this time last year is when I got my hybrid and started trying to resolve my body issues. Back then I was about 105 kg and a fat mess with little (read no) exercise.

I'm staying the night at my parents so that gives me a chance to weigh myself - I'm down to 71kg now. I'd like to get under 70kg, just because it's as good a target as any. Nearly there now. Quite surprising considering the amount of rubbish I eat.

I'm down to 97.5 now, from 105ish around Easter. I'm aiming for 85ish so still got a bit to go...

My ANT+ USB arrived today, got it all working so my HRM and Speed & Cadence sensor are feeding in to TrainerRoad. I'm a bit confused which Turbo I need to chose from the list though...

I have a CycleOps Mag which has no difficulty adjustment other than using the bikes gears. (There is another black dial which I think might affect difficulty? I had a play when I first set the trainer up but haven't touched it since).

I've got the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine II and it operates the same way - gear changes for difficulty. Your black dial does sound like difficulty but without a way of operating it from the handlebars it'll be pretty useless in any turbo session. Just stick it somewhere in the middle where you can ride at your favourite cadence (90?) with your HR fairly low (<140bpm in my case as my HR is usually quite high) in a medium-low gear.

Although mine is fluid, the general concept should be similar.

Did you check the neighbouring spokes on the same side as the loose one?

Spoke tension is a really hard thing to judge, I initially (when I first rebuilt my wheel) did it by the perceived effort of turning my cheap spoke key - I ended up rounding some of the spokes and I still had a loose wheel. The second time I did it very gradual, initially working the same number of turns into each spoke. This worked better but isn't much use to you! ;)

The last couple of times when tightening I've done it by squeezing the spokes - I measured the tension (or tried to perceive the effort it took to grip and bend 2 spokes the same distance on a friends perfect wheel). I then gradually tightened my spokes (1/4 turn at a time) until my wheel roughly replicated his spokes tension. It's not perfect but without spending quite a lump of money on a spoke tension meter there's not many other ways to do it. I'm quite looking forward to fondling my new wheels' spokes in direct comparison ;)

Regarding weight you're around the same height as me, similar weight to what I probably was autumn last year - I found the weight loss really tailed off at around 90kg, so much so I stopped weighing myself and just concentrated on my riding! Not seeing 'progress' (ie loss) can be quite annoying, I found my body shape changing (mainly loss of waist size) more of an encouragement :)

You're a lucky man, I really struggle to keep my weight down, put it on so quickly if I have a bad weekend. Which can make eating depressing at times. But rather have that than weigh what I used to weigh!

Everyone will be different, that's part of the problem! My mrs can eat what she wants (she's got more of a sweet tooth than me!) and she stays as a size 8/10 (depending on clothing brand).

I'm sat at 80-82kg, I have been for 3-4 months (since really upping my miles) but I've dropped down to there from 112kg around 2 years ago. Even without my weight changing much recently my body shape still is (down to ~33" waist). I've not really changed diet but would like to think I already ate quite a healthy balanced one!

Went out for a ride last night with some friends who go out most mondays (We jokingly call it 'Bike Club' - The first rule about Bike Club is... ;)). I had done an easy enough 32 miles solo on Sunday so this was my first real 'double-header', my legs were tired but not too bad...:o

With the heavy rain yesterday morning and sun forecast in the afternoon I thought I was prepared for anything (Ha!). Left work in windproof long sleeve jersey, shorts and summer socks. Sun was blazing down and I was slightly concerned about not carrying enough liquid and overheating in my long sleeves. I'd packed my jacket and waterproofs away in my commuting bag (dumped until return) but had my packable with me. The guys wanted to do 30 miles so I said I'd stick with them for 15-20 before heading back. We got around 8 miles out (quite high pace) and the rain started. It was more than a shower so I pulled over after getting my packable almost stuck in my crank and wrapped around my leg, lucky I did as the then torrential rain was joined by a horrific headwind! As I was struggling to catch back up there was hailstones too - painful when in summer shorts (no overshoes) and trying to push hard into a headwind! No chance of overheating now!:D

Sure enough as the other guys had gapped me so much (and none of us really sure what route we were going to do) I went a different way. Realising I'd gone wrong I pulled over at a junction (as I knew a loop back to town I could do from there) only to hear a voice behind me! They'd turned back towards home even sooner & the other direction! Lightweights! ;)

The sun came through the clouds so we backtracked slightly and went the shorter route they wanted to then do (around 20 miles). Part of this route headed back towards town, it was a nice route and one I'll remember (handy for a after work loop!) I'd semi dried out by this time but my feet were freezing and soaking wet (summer socks & no overshoes - must get myself some Belgian Booties!). I said I was heading towards home and they should carry on a longer route back if they wanted - they didn't want to so we had a good paceline going back towards town (fast A road). On the final stretch (Kings Acre, I ride it every day) we had a good race with several attacks even though there was only 3 of us (:D). My legs were completely gone by the end of the ride but still felt strong. Easy spin back home, a big plate of chicken sweet & sour followed by a long hot bath. I slept well! ;)

My new wheels and some other bits came yesterday so I drove to work today, I don't want to tempt fate but my legs feel good?! Maybe even better than yesterday morning (after my 32 miles sunday)?! Strange feeling but tomorrow will be the tell tale (I usually pay for my high mile/intensity rides 2 days later!)

With 86 miles done last week (big 30 mile+ rides both Monday & Sunday) - which is quite high for me and the biggest week I've done (yet!) followed by 22.4 miles yesterday I really expected my legs to be worse than they are... Hopefully I'm going to continue upping my mileage (or least maintaining these higher levels) with no problems! :)

I was fortunate enough to have a quick spin on a proper watt bike at the weekend so have a rough idea what 200,300,400 watts feels like. A quick test this evening and the readings seem a little on the low side by comparison (RPE) and think the trainer/difficulty I've selected might be the cause?

Any advice would be great :)

I meant to reply to this earlier sorry.

Is there no profile for your turbo? There are a couple of TR posts that suggest that there should be:

Very English weather this morning.

Got 25km from town at our bunch turn around and the heavens opened.

Smashed it down all the way home. Nobody runs mudguards so the spray made it twice as bad, my Northwave shoes filled up with water, could fill a cup out of each one when I got home. Put my clothes through the washing machine and they came out drier than they went in.

Emptied the water out of my wheels tonight, the tyres filled up between the tube and tyre!

I'm hovering around 81kg at the moment. Annoying as I got down to 78kg earlier in the year. Although I look leaner now than I have done in a while, which is odd too.

Really struggle with being disciplined enough to eat just the right amount in order to have enough energy to train effectively and drop weight.

Considering I lost 30kg a few years back I shouldn't have a problem, but just doesn't work atm.

I blame old age for my gain ! :D

Similar to you though, I lost around 30-35 kg about 5 years ago when I started cycling properly.

I've always been skinny so never weighed much. Currently at 70kg which is about 5kg heavier than I was expecting, so I must have a lot of 'skinny fat' because I haven't been doing much running or cycling lately. Probably why the work 5k run felt so hard work last week :p

my legs feel fine too, even tho I did a crazy long 94 mile ride(by my standards) on sunday and around 12 hours later I was back on my bike commuting to work.. legs feel good, no knee pain.. etc!? odd.
