Argos returs dispute with Chromecast

Until Amazon, etc. can deliver same day within hours they'll continue to exist most likely.

Which is slowly being rolled out in the US so it won't be long! In fact a couple of years ago they did offer same day evening deliveries if you lived close enough to one of their fulfillment centers with stock.

95% of GD is basically Rainman - What Happened Next which would be an awful film which I would definitely watch.

I'd buy IMAX tickets for that!

That's pretty cool. I never knew about that. I quite like the way Amazon Logistics will deliver to you quite late too.

I work from home like 95% of the time, and often do long nights so late evening courier drop offs suit me really well. :p

It's just a shame you can't schedule it to be at that time.

Well OP did his research, numerous other threads discussing chromecast so there's something fishy going on.

As for this:

Why should someone buy someone they aren't allowed to try first?

So far today, that has to be the most ridiculous statement yet, congrats Arknor.

(Plenty of time for someone to take that crown)

Sometimes the ability to have something in your hand, on that day, for a couple of quid more than amazon is worth it to some people.

For instance I used them for BF:Hardline. I was in a restaurant 100m away, I reserved online and picked it up 20 mins later. No fuss at all, no worry about when it will arrive and it cost me £2 more than if I ordered and got it delivered from Amazon. Admittedly it was the first time in years I have done that and it was more of an impulse buy but still..

A few quid is never really an issue, if it's a fiver or more though I'll get it online (if we're talking about games, as a fiver is often a large percentage of a game's price).

In the OP's situation though, the Chromecast wasn't even more expensive from Argos, it was the same price as on Amazon.

I am all for hating on Argos, but in this situation I don't think it is warranted.
I won't use the store due to **** poor service in general - in particular its delivery service.

you what now?? not sure if troll post or poor attempt at humour

and yet people still buy from the high street

we know the customer service is terrible, so why do it

OP.....buy online!

bit of a sweeping generalisation, plenty of bricks and mortar stores with brilliant customer services and conversely there's plenty of etailers with minging customer services.

customer services aint really the issue here though, OP bought a product exempt from 30day returns (irrespective of what he says he was told - he has no proof) and is now trying it on for a refund. there's only so many ways you can say 'no you're not entitled to a refund' no matter the level of customer services
