***The Official LG Optimus G2 Thread***

Well, the wife's new G2 turned up yesterday, and it's a really nice phone, better than I was expecting to be honest, and for £228 for the 32GB version isn't bad imo :)

Nice sharp, colourful screen, responsive etc.. It makes for a really nice upgrade to her Moto G, very pleased :)

Nothing on mine which I have on Tesco. Although it was Vodafone originally so no idea if I will get it but tbh it runs perfect as is.

Hi

Download the LG support tool the lollipop update has just become available now for me finally :)

All updated now to lollipop it seems really nice and smooth and the camera seems to be a little faster too so far so good:D

Also make sure you back up your pics/videos/contact just in case you run into trouble but i had no issues and everything was as before the upgrade:)

All updated to 5.0.2 without issue and seems to be running perfect. Not sure so sure on all the flat Apple like icons.

It has also removed all the Vodafone branding from my phone so instead of the horrid Vodafone logo's when turning on and off I now get the standard LG ones.

Cheers

So i just tried to update my LG G2 using the mobile support tool, As it was finishing the program crashed on the pc and now my phone is bricked. What options do i have!

Thanks for the link, but i'm unable to do either a hard reset / enter recovery as nothing happens when i do that it just stays on the LG logo. I cant even turn the phone off as it just powers its self back on and goes back to the logo. I cant manually install android as my PC either as it no longer detects my phone :(

Thanks for your help. I'm just going to by the LG G3 instead of faffing about. i'll put the G2 on ebay/gumtree and let someone else try to fix it.

I bought one of these from Ebay yesterday for £91 including delivery
It has a crack in the very top corner of the phone:

but that's all that's wrong. Quite a bargain I'd say :D

If you haven't yet sold your G2, there is an easy way to fix which could work in your situation. I bricked mine pretty hard (accidentally wiped internal storage and it didn't want to restore my nand backup) over the weekend and this did the trick

It's a guide to reflash the original stock image. I can't say for sure if you'll keep or lose your data, but definitely worth a go and doesn't take too long
