Ah yes you could well be right there.

That would make more sense, I was wondering just how AMD could be that daft. :)

Points 3 and 4 still stand though.

With regard to points 3 and 4 (No PCB cooling / 4GB only).

The cooling will be fine with both AIO and air coolers. There won't be any part of the card that needs cooling without cooling.

HBM1 is 4-Hi HBM1 16Gb (2GB per chip)

So we could be looking at 4 stack of 2GB per chip?

So is this announcement 2pm Japan time Wednesday which is essentially tomorrow night in the United States?

Not for Fiji, its been pushed back to the 16th because of the Ti, unless that was a rumour.

Quite like the MSI gaming cards for their quiet coolers, so hoping there's one of those anyway.

Yeah i like the Gamings, not had any problems at all with mine, coolers well quiet.

If the cards stack like this below, it actually makes AMD lineup look really strong tbh. If/when they actually arrive.

AMD Fiji 4096 Shaders / 8GB HBM VS Titan X 3072 Cores / 12GB GDDR5
AMD Fiji Cutdown 3560 Shaders / 8GB HBM VS GTX 980 Ti / 6GB GDDR5
AMD 390X Hawaii Updated GCN / 8GB GDDR5 VS GTX 980 4GB GDDR5
AMD 390 Hawaii Updated GCN / 8GB GDDR5 VS GTX 970 3.5GB + 0.5GB GDDR5
AMD 380 Tonga Updated / 4GB GDDR5 VS GTX 960 2GB / 4GB GDDR5

Yup but then again this is AMD.... :p

True :p

Does look strong, I think that is entirely realistic too, only thing i would say is 'cut' figi would probably only have 4GB Vram although seeing as all the other cards are 8GB might be possible.

Cut down Fiji could be the one to watch for.

While on the subject here's a pic of Pascal.

"definitely only 4GB" my arse.

That's what really burns my britches, it's been pointed out to him many times how the 4GB thing is false, there is as much evidence for 8GB as there isn't, in fact more, Hynix's own slides say 8GB, but no, he'd rather keep his biased talking point.

Well thank you for that delightful, insightful, helpful post.

Ok so I'm not allowed my opinion then, fair enough.

that dont make no sense.

what makes sense is that if amd have any competitive cards up there sleeves, then they need to play thme very soon, otherwise they are haemorraging potential customers.

My r9 290X is now on ebay, Fastest card for £550 will be bought this month whether its from Nvidia or AMD.

and have you listed your card at a realistic price, or is it another example of used card going for 20-30 quid shy of the price of a brand new card, giving the false impression of 'how much they sell for on ebay'?
