I thought the frenetic nature of the fighting was excellent, however major annoyance with the 'CONVENIENTLY PLACED BOAT' that all the fleeing people ignored.
Didn't Jon tell one of the KW to drop off some wildlings and then come back for him?

Jon Snow told them to come back for him.

In the first ever episode of Game Of Thrones, how is it that Benjen is allowed to go to Winterfell?
Great episode but i thought it was strange in the fight scene with Jon Snow he reaches for the blade but the white walker just picks him up chucks him could have put sword through his back easy![]()
IMO there is a difference between someone who has read the books and knows about this zombie character, and then see's the "hint" in the last season as a clear indication of the future plot line, such that they can immediately recognize someone under a cover halfway through the next season, despite everyone else would probably see it as *very* oblique hint. There is a difference between that and the alternative of someone who hasn't read the books being so eagle eyed as to come to the same conclusion. I know which of these I am betting on with the first chap who mentioned this.
Exactly. It never crossed my mind that the maester would be zombifying the Mountain. Obviously he's up to something but I hadn't worked it out and I consider myself to be pretty eagle-eyed.
Can't visit this thread again, too many hints.

Didn't we used to have 2 threads? 1 for book talk one for TV talk (for those of us who haven't read the books). Couldn't we do that again?
Obviously in the book thread it would be okay to talk about the TV show as there would be no potential spoilers.
My guess, possible spoiler
it is likely he has been bitten, so the change will be slow, especially for someone his size, and he will be the other side of the wall when he change to a zombie, which will be impossible to stop and he will open the gate from the inside.
Let's face it, it would be a bit boring if they all can sit on top of the wall and fight them off this not in any real danger of losing.
Eh? What are you talking about?
Are we not referring to that giant as the mountain?

The giant.
