rumoured leaks with no date with currency conversions applied to them make a murky picture at best.

We also don't yet know what 'enhanced' means - being the same base architecture doesn't mean exactly the same, so even were it more expensive that could be perhaps worth it. We shall see soon enough I guess, would be a shame if it turned out the way it's spun by some but meh, I'm not looking for a new card anyway :p
Yea like the Nvidia's 500 series was a refresh of the 400 series Fermi, which power consumption and heat reduced.

Let's hope it is the same case for the "Hawaii" rebranded "Grenada" (if those names are true). A more power efficienct and lower heat 290x with 8GB of faster memory could be a tempting alternative to the GTX970 3.5GB (fanbois can shout 4GB all they want, but the amount vram that are actually usable by games in the proper way we know it is still only 3.5GB). But price would be the key factor.

Just seen the 390s are Grenadas, not Hawaiis :p

Grenada's very interesting because it is a small island nation that was invaded by the United States of America in 1983, it has about ninety thousand people. And essentially, it means is this case is unloseable. Okay? So, you know, we can come in, we can have our genitals hanging out of our pants. Nobody cares. I'm gonna win. You, sir, are what's known as a Grenada.

:D

Nvidia goin down like Stratton Oakmont!

Wow that confirmed what Lisa Su said a month ago she now no longer see AMD as brand for cheap CPUs, APUs and GPUs.

Guess AMD is history now that nobody will able to afford more expensive 300 series cards compared to cheap 7970 price years ago. Buyers would gone bargain hunter for cheap 200 series cards in grey markets instead.

The 290X 8GB never sold well the 1st time round did it not?

Think sales on the 290X 8GB picked up after the 970 fiasco, peeps moved to the 290X for that tasty amount vram guaranteed.

All Radeon sales have dropped off tbh, everyone knows the new stuff is just around corner. Eventually finally possibly going to be released soon..

It seemed Videocardz has the best close up shot of Fiji chip.

Very clean pic, can see HBM has single layer die easy. :)

Imho, a 390X Grenada (Updated GCN) with 8GB of GDDR5 priced similar to a GTX 980 4GB might be a tempting alternative.

If AMD can match 980 Ti / Titan X with Fiji, I think AMD have a fair chance of gaining some market share back. With good alternatives a the various price points. Provided they actually launch these things to market.

Well oddly enough, the 7970 was more expensive than the 680 back then and AMD chopped the price a bit later when sales dried up and this made it a more viable card (especially when they brought out the 12.11 drivers that gave a nice performance boost - but did take them 10 months to get good performance on the GCN cards).

I knew they were rebranding the 290X etc but this seems a silly move and coming with an AIO cooler is even sillier. I don't get this move at all and unless there is some serious performance boosts over the 290X without smashing the clocks up alone, I can't see the reasoning behind this. Also with Matt Skynner almost confirming that the HBM cards won't be as fast as the Titan X is sad times ahead for AMD.

Really strange to see memory almost right on the gpu like that, make that whole array look a lot bigger though it results in smaller cards. That being said the gpu itself looks pretty large.

I even tried to give him a heads up to change it before a mod see it.

Anyways back on topic, I have watched that video again from Matt and Lisa and he does claim it to be the "fastest small form factor graphics card in the world" My initial impression was "WOW, they are confident to come out with that....Woot" but when you look a bit deeper, it is going up against the GTX 970 mini (not sure of any other small form factor cards with that power (980 perhaps?)) So that kinds deflates me a little.

He didn't say it like that. He said it is a small form factor graphics...that is the fastest in the world. Not that it is the fastest small form factor graphics. Big difference.

AMD Fiji 4GB HBM VS GTX Titan X 12GB.
AMD Fiji Cutdown 4GB HBM VS GTX 980 Ti 6GB.
AMD 390X (Grenada) 8GB VS GTX 980 4GB.
AMD 390 (Grenada) 8GB VS GTX 970 3.5GB+0.5GB.
AMD 380 (Tonga) 2GB / 4GB VS GTX 960 2GB / 4GB.
AMD R7 370 4GB 2GB / 4GB VS GTX 750 Ti 2GB

AMD have a good product stack here imho.

"That means we can create a small form factor graphics card that is the fastest in the world" That sounded pretty clear to me.

Only reason to price the cards higher than 2XX series if they truly did something..."enhanced cores"... 390/390X needs to be at least on par with the 970/980 for those prices.

Ambiguous sentence so could mean either - it neither clearly says it's the fastest graphics card in the world that happens to be small form factor nor does it clearly say it's the fastest of the small form factor graphics cards. Meh.
