Wasn't overly impressed too be honest, way too predictable.

It was obvious why Stannis sent Davos away. It was a fools errand.

The Unsullied are pathetic. They're supposed to be badass fearless warriors, yet they get ass whooped by some masked peasants. And she has how many? Over 5000? All those soldiers at her disposal but it's Mormant the saves her life.

And the Dragon scene was pants. Harpy folk just stood still waiting to get burnt. Rubbish!

Really enjoyed that. Loved the little wink the dragon gives Dany!

Stannis scene was hard to watch. I hate Stannis for it, but it's more that he's being horribly manipulated by the disgusting, yet very fit, witch bitch.

Little crew building up now of Dany, Tyrion, Joer Mormont, JS (hopefully), Daarius and the totally badass dragons.

That place where Arya trains is like the Westeros Dignitas.

Plus we've had a glimpse of at least how big they can get in season 1 I believe? Hopefully they do get that big :D

Yep, this is some ( canon) artwork to show scale:

When you compare how big she is to them now, she's roughly the size of their heads...look how small that guy is lol. but they are centuries old and hers are only just over a year i can't see them all surviving especially Drogon...

Obvious to the viewer, not to Davos. Not sure what your point is.
Umm, there weren't 5000 in the arena, just a couple dozen. The whole point being it was a trap.
They also didn't just stand there, did you not see the dragon get pelted with spears?

Rubbish? Nah, you just need to watch something else.

So......... Child rape, child burning, head chopping and a dragon thrown in for good measure. Game of Thrones episode in a nutshell :D

I kind of agree with Smokey about the Unsullied though - compared to their reputation they don't do that great in any of the fights we see them in - granted they aren't trained for street fighting or close protection but still.

Hope Arya bumps into her old teacher syrio forel, Im still not convinced he's dead :D

So many potentially good story elements around him, none the least the possibility of him being a Faceless Man (I don't really buy the theory he is one and the same as Jaqen H'ghar though but who knows).

I never said there was 5000 in the arena. Simply questioning why she doesn't have more protecting her when she's exposed. That arena should've been a fortress.

And the dragon turned its back on an entire row of Harpy's to kill 3 others posing no threat whatsoever. The guy in-front of the other two wasn't even wielding a spear, lol. May as well of placed an arrow stating 'Extras placed for CGI incineration'.

Yes I saw the spears, plenty of them. Wrong target though. Daenerys was vulnerable to ranged attacks the entire scene. Not enough men for an Unsullied testudo and yet not a single projectile comes close to hitting her.

Despite a fire-breathing dragon nomming and burning the **** out of everyone and the terror it brings, not once did a single Harpy have a moment of clarity and actually hurl a spear her way amidst the ensuing chaos. Even in her moment with Drogon, and the battle paused, not one attempt was made. Nah, just chuck another spear at the dragon, that should do it.

I think you should be willing to suspend disbelief for a little bit! It's basically a wild animal, it's not going to be thinking as much about it as you. It did kill any that got too close to her. Did one of the unsullied also get torched? Looked like one might have?!

I doubt any of the attackers when the dragon landed and started munching and toasting on them thought too much more about Dany. If you had a 5ft spear who would you throw it at? Dany, surrounded by unsullied or the wild dragon that has you on the menu?

It's the initial shock factor. Remember these (harpy's and the public) people including Tyrion have always assumed dragons to be nothing but folklore and the stuff of legend. Then out of no where a zonking dragon appears and plonks himself near you - I know I'd be staring in terror and awe.

Drogon is still growing too so hopefully next season we'll see him bigger and badder, though I doubt Balerion sized.

Didn't they say at the beginning of the whole show that Dragons grow to ridiculous sizes? They were talking about one dragon head being the size of the throne room in Kings Landing, hence i expect all three dragons to grow at least twice the size it is at the moment

Eh? Arent they a year or so old and the ones that were massive were 100+ years old?

I have a feeling that the horrible thing that Stannis did in an attempt to save them will actually be their undoing. Maybe there will be an unexpected side effect of killing a child of kings blood in such a horrific way that unleashes/awakens something nasty... I did notice that there were mainly men at the burning.. ;)

I think they did but yes dragons can grow to silly sizes providing they have space and food from the local farmer. Since Dany's 3 dragons are relatively young (1 or 2years?) I am not sure if we will see them at their full destructive potential come next season. Who knows though.

Yup!

Yeh all three will doubtless get a lot bigger than Drogon is at the moment, but it does take a lot of time.

For those asking why Davos gave Shireen the present and if he knew or not, of course he knew. He did everything he could short of kidnapping Shireen or killing Stannis/Mel to stop it - though when put like that it sounds like he didn't do much, especially as we know he was willing to undermine Stannis earlier to free Gendry. I suppose Stannis may have expected he might try so kept an eye open for it, something that Davos would know about. One thing is for sure, his reaction is going to be an interesting scene.

People saying the Shireen scene is out of character for Stannis, even from the books, I don't agree. It's just one step further along his arc - he has gone from dedicated to fanatic in my view. This is the point at which he lost my support, but it doesn't mean it was that unexpected or unfaithful to his character IMO.
In the books we know how desperate their situation is, they tried to paint a similar picture here but didn't build it up so well if you ask me

Also there is some speculation about whether Hizdahr is actually dead, as he seemed to go down very 'easily' having just been stabbed. Might be looking for clues that aren't there, but if he isn't the Harpy then it's Daario (there's surely no one else it could possibly be), and that makes less sense to me.

20 men + Ramsay somehow sneak into the middle of a massive army, burn all their catapults and a lot of their tents/supplies, and get away without anyone noticing? All seems a bit too farfetched to me.
