Possible Radeon 390X / 390 and 380X Spec / Benchmark (do not hotlink images!!!!!!)

390X would be £450 with VAT on top as a minimum. Of course, if it genuinely is just 40MHz slower and otherwise the same card, the 390 is a 390X at £250 or whatever.

The 390 wont be the same card as a 290x but with 40mhz less on the clock. That would be absurd.
 
AMD needs to beat the 970/980 with their 390/390x while battling the 980ti/titan x with the fury line up.. Makes no sense just to slap 8 gigs on a card and call it a day. There must be some sort of extra sauce on that cheese burger or its going to be one very dry experience.

It depends. The rumours are performance has been improved along with power and heat, if performs as good as Geforce cards at the same price point then it wouldn't be so absurd.

I wouldn't put it past AMD if it's the same people that decided to give the rebrand Hawaii 8GB and the flagship 4GB. NVIDIA shills are going to be laughing so hard.
 
The stone wall tactics do appear to be having the desired effect. This thread is certainly reaching fever pitch.

If the performance is there, enthusiasts will be in a state of frenzy. If not, well, it will be rather embarrassing.

What, yes it would? It would be absurd, whatever spin you put on it. What is the point in releasing two cards at two different price points with essentially exactly the same performance. A 40mhz core bump is going to give a nearly negligible performance difference between the 390 and 390x meaning absolutely no one would buy a 390x.

If it does happen i will be dumbfounded.
 
It happened with the last generation. The previous top tier became the second tier.

It's the introduction of the Fury at the top and the relegation of x90 to 2nd tier which people seem to be having trouble with.

I do think Fury X will beat Titan X, but if it is just 4gb then it will put a lot of people off. Never know, maybe the Fury X sku has 8gb. But it seems like that is more likely to come a little later.

Yeah I guess we can only judge Fury once they release all the reviews and see what it's capable of.
