Amd better produce something really good as i can't remember this much Hype over a card for a long time. Usually when there's this much hype about something it's hard not to feel let down even if something is good but not as good as the hype would suggest. Some people are expecting miracles and praying to gods at the alter to see if they are worthy which is a first for me :D:D:D:D:D

So given the fact 80% of the "new" cards are rebrands again, I suspect that AMD have avoided releasing driver's so that they can release 8 months worth of minor improvements in a new driver to brag that the new 300 series cards are 15% faster.

So are AMD's drivers.

Really? Didn't know they had gaming computers back then. :D

Anyways
From e3 am expecting great GPUs on show, followed by games in partnership with AMD from Microsoft for Windows 10..
Something to do with online gaming, so it must be some sort of game streaming with Microsoft xbox and windows 10 pc what this gotta do with AMD is a question I liked answered.

And what ever surprises they keep talking about. :D

Love e3 me!

People still banging on about drivers when there is another thread on Nvidia instability, another TDR issue(which has been going and coming back for well over two years with a huge number of users effected).

Witcher 3, with an 'old' driver works dandy on all AMD architectures, performance is as expected and generally strong, single gpu is perfect. xfire not great, but single gpu perfect.

Nvidia, multiple drivers, most unstable for huge numbers of users, entire generations of products were drastically underperforming(on all drivers new and old). SLI scaling particularly on Kepler was terrible. People who had paid near enough 2 grand for Titan X sli are complaining that while performance is lower in single gpu the game is smoother and more playable. The instability is present for all types of users, sli, kepler, maxwell.

But AMD have a driver issue because xfire sucks in Witcher 3 even though sli is highly problematic in Witcher 3 anyway. Despite it being an Nvidia game, it's more stable on AMD drivers released before the game was launched. Damn those old AMD drivers, I'd far prefer to have 3-4 different versions of specific Witcher 3 drivers all of which have various problems and introduce crashing.

80% of the new cards are rebrands is a fact? Can i see your red sauce please? (link)
well seen as Win10 is on the horizon along with DX12 i suspect they are working hard on win10 drivers and also working on drivers specifically for dx12 so it runs smoothly etc so the other team can't brag about how much better their cards run on dx12 etc. Also some people believe that they are redoing the catalyst drivers completely but this is just speculation we know for sure they are working on win10 and dx12 because of the drivers they have available.

And people are reporting nice gains even in dx11 with win10 and the drivers. So seems ya thats where the focus is along side doing the drivers for the new cards.

Honestly I get scared when microsoft are mentioned in respect to pc gaming we just got rid of games for windows tbey are likly trying to apply more drm.

Ha bingo will bet there going to anounce that amd drivers/hardware is going to support play media 3.0.

Just what you need to restrict 4k playback and also why AMD will be banging there drum about 4k despite having a gimped card.

As to the question of why they would release a gimped halo product look at there financials then look at there release schedule for the last 2 years and the next 12 months. Zen is delayed again and they are literally in the position of not having brough a new product to market for quite sometime. They need somthing, even anything to actually sell as a tech company with no tech.

P.S I am a 7970 owner so no nvidia bias in fact I am happy as with it's 3rd release it is now worth more than I paid for it 4 years ago

118 hours on record in that game with two TITANX, 4 crashes in total 2 of which are an inventory bug.

You do like to exaggerate don't you. And lie, let's not forget that too. You could defend the Moors murderers out of prison time lol.

Your lack of knowledge with NVidia cards is shocking, have you had much personal experience with Kepler and Maxwell ?

You do realise us TitanX owners are very happy with them even after the 980 Ti launch.

It is fantastic running Witcher 3 maxed @2160p with all the effects working on NVidia cards, sadly you can not do the same with AMD cards at the moment.

I still own Kepler cards and SLI is very good with them, the one thing that does spring to mind is didn't AMD cards have a terrible problem with micro stutter when the Kepler cards came on the market. Also didn't the tech sites use the GTX 690 as the benchmark for how cards should run without micro stutter (obviously the SLI was working ok for the 690s).

I don't like bashing AMD cards as I own quite a few of them but sometimes it helps to remind people when they only use one brand and bash the other.

They will release a reworked driver package..don't know if they release it at E3 or not..but i think so.
Its a major rework, hence the slow driver releases lately.

Not long now,, amd are hinting at some big surprises.. Am ready to be blown away..

:D

Seeing how the last time AMD hyped up a big reveal it turned out to be Tonga... well, I feel sorry for anyone still getting caught up in the hype.

Have your best disappointed sigh at the ready, folks... :p

How people can argue about tech that's not been released yet, that we have nothing to compare to is beyond me. Either AMD have a cunning plan or have some explaining to do with their shareholders.

Yeah it's getting pretty weird in this thread ha.

Whoever has got the best hardware will get my cash, some of these guys are way to emotionally invested.

I think the Fury X power consumption could be deciding factor for me as I'm moving to a passive 520W PSU. I know a few guys that said a TX will be fine on that, not sure about Fury X. Could be a very power hungry card. I really do love the TX so Fury X will need to be pretty special for me to part with it. Looking forward to finally seeing what these new cards can do.

Only 1 more day to go to see what's what.

You didn't need a TX anyway :D
