Blue Suits

Seriously type "blue suit" into Google images, I swear nearly all the results are guys who look almost identical.. slicked back hair and/or Munford and Sons beard.

And whats with this thin tie thing.

There are far too many of them about, in my opinion. I went to a wedding recently and just about everyone was wearing the same blue suit...I think the blue is verging more on cheap than classy too.

I wear a grey suit. Boring, I know.

I was rocking a (bespoke naturally ;) ) blue suit about 5 or so years ago but they have become a bit over-saturated, just like everyone stole my beard. Now it's all about charcoal double breasted or prince of wales check for me.

IBM would disagree and my early days were spent work with the IBM community in the 80's and their philosophy was dark blue suit, white shirt, blue tie. You then found many companies in the tech industry following that trend, to be fair a trend that went back to the 50's!

There does seem to be a trend for bright blue suits there days and I think you have to be young to get away with them and even then they need to have the right cut.

I agree on the double breasted. Very rarely worn nowadays so sets you apart. I haven't owned one since the 80s but would certainly consider one now.

I like the diverse attire in the city now days. I work in the City but not worn a suit or tie for years. That said, i do like wearing a suit and the blue looks pretty cool.

Need a blue suit sir? Size 38R sir? Ooohhh, suits you sir!

I noticed this recently too.

There's something very boy band'y or Made in Chelsea about them.

How can a suit itself give off that look? Surely it's mostly due to the person wearing it :p

For a while it was all about the grey suit. Now it has moved onto blue suits and white cars. Fashion always has a cycle. It will soon come round, maybe even ridiculous pin stripes at some point.

I am just happy I get to wear my combats and polo shirt in the summer, would suck sweating in a suit

I agree on the rare occasion it gets hot in London, the tube can be a little unpleasant, fortunately it's never really hot enough here for this to be a problem regularly. :)

This year has been fine so far, but last year was awful. I remember being on the Tube more than once when it was very hot; I was sweating like a Mackam in an IQ test :(

Blue (but not too light) or Grey (but not too shiny) in the City.

No Brown in town, and those who advise black do not know what they are talking about / have terrible fashion sense. Probably haven't even figured out why everyone asks them 'who's died' everyday.
