The 30Hz wows me more (would be great for mmos!).I stand corrected then.. Still a very nice range though.
160hz WOW! Now am very interested!
edit
Nope ill wait for 1440p![]()
You 35-90 is perfectly fine imo. Someone feel free to show me benchmarks where they get a constant 90+ fps in the newest games excluding aa especially with a single GPU.
Battlefield 4 regularly goes above 90fps for me even when maxed out, plenty of games with a max fps range that goes above 90fps so it would be nice for the range to be higher.
The whole point of freesync/gsync is to remove tearing and make the fluctuation in framerate not as noticeable, it's not really about what constant fps you get.
Probably won't be long before we see an IPS 1440p panel with a higher range anyway and probably cheaper than the ASUS.
Well, well, what to say, what to do. Quite baffled as to what to do at the moment regarding my setup. Had my Benq freesync screen for quite a while now. amazing screen, a real thing of beauty playing games. My 7950 crossfire been excellent at keeping the frames well up there at the higher ranges that this screen yearns for, but here is the dilemma. Not been able to see freesync yet because the 7950 is not supported, been waiting and waiting for this FURY X, now it's here I'm just not sold on it. Performance at 1440p seems quite meh, regarding its numbers my aging cards gets pretty much where the Fury X sits (when crossfire bloody works that is). I've been so pumped to get a beast of a high end single card that's going to give me 50% more performance than my 7950 crossfire and finally freesync. Sadly the Fury X looks like a pretty expensive upgrade for what you get at 1440p.
So where the hell do I go from here. Man the 980ti G1 is incredibly tempting, but I want to see freesync in all its glory. Do I buy a 390x to see me through till hbm2/early next year and use freesync at 45fps lol or do I just keep on rolling this 7950 crossfire setup for another 6 months putting up with shoddy AMD drivers with no crossfire support in new games.
Boy o boy, got money saved up and all, feel bit bummed by fury X in all honesty.

thank you for taking the time to reply guys, read all your thoughts. Had some time to think about it, going to roll with the same screen and jump on a Fury X when prices go lower than £500. Couple that with Windows 10, DX12 and Freesync all playing nice, think that will be more than good enough.
Will wait a couple months and see where the dust settles.
Thanks again all
Yes there is a small difference with freesync on-off, and many games can get that with single GPU everything maxed out. (graphics).
TESO in delves, Beyond Earth, Skyrim, EVE Online, World of Warships
At least those I play....

I'm not one for fanboy brand loyalty, im not one of these "I need the best" type of people, I just need a setup that does me well in games where I can enjoy fluid gaming with lots of eye candy thrown in. I'm going to carry on with my 7950's for the time being, after all getting upwards of 100fps at 1440p in the games I play with mates is not exactly a problem.....my screen is due back from BenQ any day now with the latest firmware, which according to others, really improves the screen anyway. Will wait a couple months and see where the dust settles.

Just to chime in here, I have the mg279q and it's a terrific piece of equipment - beautiful display. I don't find the 35-90hz range an issue since my FPS normally run in that range anyways in games (that's pretty much the ideal range for what a good GPU can push in modern games).
I would suggest OP stick with his Freesync display and upgrade to a 290x, or Fury X if he has money to burn.
So is there a consensus on a workaround or ETA for xfire support with Freesync? I was able to pick up a 295x2 very cheap from someone looking to "upgrade" - would be great if it worked with my display when I get it...
Freesync Crossfire drivers have been due since April, still M.I.A.
