i don't know why this forum loves E10's but everyone bangs on about them as if they are the holy grail.

the iem's they are saying is clearer and more resolving cost me £4.99. in fact the newer version of those only cost £5.50.

JVC HA-FX101 are much better if you like bass than the E10and much cheaper too, i also have them.

Brainwavz M1 - brilliant if your looking for that reference sound and also £10 cheaper than E10's

ideally though you want to keep an eye on sound city, sometimes people post IEM's on there which cost as little as £3 or maybe up to £20 but can beat IEM's worth 10-20 times as much.
 
I have E10's and (unfortunately) some HA-FX and the E10's are far, far better, the JVC's are uncomfortable and muddy sounding in comparison. I bought the the E10's on recommendation from headfi's forum, who're the undisputed authority on headphones.
 
E10's are okish, but not great. The main issue I have is that they are quiet compared to other earphones. I was rather underwhelmed with them when I picked up a pair last month.
