Anyone else hate birthdays ?

This... sort of.

I don't see the point in the fuss, or at least didn't until a couple of years ago when I had my own little boy, which I guess gave me a better understanding of the celebration of someone's birth (at least from a parent's PoV!).

My birthday is this weekend, heading out on Saturday seeing Ant Man and then getting tanked with mates, some good food, then the Sunday recover and chill on said birthday with family, the lass and the bairn.
 
Birthdays. Xmas. NYE. Weddings. Funerals. Who cares? CBA with the fuss, just another day, so leave me alone.
 
Was never into them, from young to now my mum always tried to get a party going and I was like nope don't bother.

If it was someone else's , I always made an effort if I was invited to a party thou , nothing worse than no shows at them .
 
Either start appreciating how lucky you are or stop celebrating them and tell people you no longer want it acknowledged.

This is like the worst first world problem thread ever.

I was 36 the other week, we invited friends and family round and had a big afternoon BBQ, it was absolutely awesome.
 
I don't hate them, I just don't really care enough as I've gotten past the "fun" aspect - just another night out with the guys. If I ever have kids then I'm sure all that will change

Why does it have to be another night out with the guys, spend the money doing something else, use your imagination!

You can avoid the disappointing gifts by telling people what you want. You can avoid the fake smiles and niceness by having decent friends.

I love my birthday (except last year as I was tired an jet lagged).
 
I'm over it, last birthday I did anything special was when I turned 16 and went paint balling with all my mates; half of them had to lie as they weren't old enough :p Now all I do is go out for a relaxed meal with the family and spend any cash at the weekend down the pub with my mates
 
I hate other peoples!

(Especially Womens!)

All that faffing around looking for the perfect card/present/whatever.

All the Butthurt/Earache if you dont remember it!

This TBH. I like to do something but it doesn't need to be big or excessive. Just give me a nice meal and a few drinks with the company of a few good mates and I am happy.

I normally need reminding if a birthday is coming up. I remember my mums every year though (this is impossible to forget). I don't buy gifts / cards because IMO it's a waste of money.

I actually don't tend to celebrate anything really, including Christmas :p
