Just wrapped my first nickel coil on the subtank rba, 4 wraps of 28/29awg came out at 0.19 and it tastes like butt hole :(

Back to the drawing board.

E: gradually tasting better, not supposed to dry burn nickel iirc? Could have been some crap on the wire giving a bad taste, istick 40 working superbly with it too....for now.

E2: I'm dumb, I used titanium not nickel, derp.

Haven't seen one of these on here yet, got it today...

250ml, sorry, not 200ml

Also I started to mix by weight. I assume 1ml = 1g which is true for water but not necessarily other liquids. It is close enough for me though

My mix is slowly starting to mix in, it separates but each time it is less and less. Thing is it isn't steeping fully while it separates so i will have portions of the e-juice aged at different stages at the most being 4 days apart.

Maybe it is just flavorwest lemonade at higher percentages than 15%

Done a bit of mixing today, 250ml of nessies nectar made and steeping away nicely.

Also had a go at a cherry bakewell, it smells divine if not a little overpowering at the moment, the smell is just what a bakewell smells of.

60-40 mix vg-pg
maraschino cherry, flavorwest 10%
biscuit, inawara 6%
EM 8 drops per 10ml

A few days steeping and the EM should mellow and blend it all nicely i hope.

It's been reported that dangerous chemicals are produced when you vape above certain temperatures.. also your wick will burn above certain temperatures.

it's meant to be safer and healthier to vape with temperature control, specially if your a noob and not experienced in stopping/preventing bad vapes like 'dry hits'. by reducing or cutting off the power if and when it gets too hot.

It only works with certain wire material such as pure nickel (ni200) and titanium (ti).

It will produce a cooler vape and often weaker vape, which some people like, and some people can't stand.

Cheers for that and explained very well.

Righty, built again only using nickel this time, 5 wraps, 0.07ohm, tastes great, nice clouds and flavour and above all the istick 40w tc appears to actually work with it, must not like the occ nickel coils :)

Found out my sxk60 (v4s clone) won't fire below 0.1 either, brilliant :p

Was firing the titanium build at 100j, something silly like 115w, worked perfectly on the ipv4, really warm yet odd tasting vape.

So i just knocked up a 28 awg ni200 claptond with 32 awg kanthal and the vape is much more satisfying, came out at .07 ohm 6 wraps around a 2.5mm driver. Much more flavor, more heat and passed the dry cotton burn no problem.
I don't know how the dna40 would handle dual coils at .03, i imagine it wont have enough watts to put out anything worth vaping.

What TI are you using and where are you getting it from? I have so much kantal and nickel at the moment, I'm not sure if I what spools of more wire.. lol

Grade 1 from stealth vape, 26 awg: http://www.stealthvape.co.uk/wire/medial-grade1-titanium-wire. Quite easy to work with but gives an unusual vape in terms of flavor.

I can't decide if the istick TC40 works with Ti or not though, it vapes fine (better then the IPV4 tbh) but eleaf don't officially say its safe though a few sites selling it say its fine with Ti.

I figured out why I mistook the reel of Ti for Ni, the labels on them, I just grabbed the one with the bright blue label, I mean EVERYTHING with Ni200 in the vaping world is coded with blue isn't it? Well not these reels, its black and the Ti is blue :p

The first build came out at like 0.26ohm (6-7 wraps) and I thought "well, this is high for nickel isn't it?" haha :D

Time to go RTA shopping ;)

From what I read, TI works with everything, even non temperature control mods. BUT it can be dangerous if its ran too hot and start a chemical fire. (and so is ni200 if not used correctly.)

as far as I'm aware, DNA40s do not officially support TI coils but people have been using them since it's been out. It just don't read the temperature correctly as it uses a different scale and chart of ohm vs heat increase, that's available on the other chips, you just have to do the conversion yourself.

(IIRC) I read 230ish F on TI is actually around 420F, it's worth doing a dry cotton burn or googling it, there's a massive thread on a states forum discussing it.

what RTA are you getting? :)
