Both of us know if he was muslim and had the weapons cache that Lyndam did he would have been incarcerated by the press as a terrorist irrespective. Funny how they (the press) are all so quick to analyse a muslims background and go into every single life detail but when it comes to the terror from others its like yeah, he's just mental - nothing to see here. Only ONE mainstream media outlet used the term terrorist to describe Liam (The Mirror)
Granted I conceded that the UK label of terrorism is mainly applicable to political agendas - I havn't disputed that, but it does also state on the MI5 website that it doesn't have to be a political case but that they MAINLY are.
Irrespective of his agenda anyhoo - he was planning to commit a terror attack as he clearly is quoted as saying himself - strike fear into the hearts of the general indiscriminate public, even used the words terror and if you want to go as far as political agendas he clearly references Brevik, which most of you are overlooking.
Will remember in future that this forum only counts extreme politicians and general muslims as terrorists. If it was a muslim this thread would have been hitting 500 pages by now.....

So it would be case when a terrorist does something people get all arsey irrespective of the actual colour of their skin or ideology.
People maybe, and I am throwing this crazy idea out there so bear with me, - people maybe just don't like terrorists.
Now when you have a group that has given the perception that it creates, facilitates and does not denounce said terrorists then people project that dislike onto the group. Crazy idea I know, but thanks for sticking with me all the same.

I also vaguely remember the IRA being frowned upon back in the day. My memory is fading as I approach the big 3-0 but I don't recall them being extremists of the Muslamic variety.

Why was the recent stabbing attack in isreal not considered a terrorist attack? From what i can see that attack has all the hallmarks of Jewish terror. Similarly the arson attack seemed politically motivated and just as much a terrorist attack as any other. At the least they are both examples of hate crimes perpetrated by Jewish fanatics.
Recall seeing them in the news but haven't looked at them. Do you have any links for us?

are you intentionally being daft and argumentative? I have previously given a very simply explanation as to why this guy isn't a terrorist.
it would not matter if it was a muslim, hindu, catholic, protestant. it was not a terrorist plot/plan.
the kid didn't plan to go on a run and gun spree because of any political, religious fanatical reason.
he was planning it because he felt hard done to by his college. it really is that simply.

didn't have to show any sort of sympathy to get hassled. you only had to have a certain accent and be of a certain religion. but that's a conversation for a different time and different thread!

the only 'link' to Brevik was that he mentioned him in a conversation with a girl. it's quite a jump from mentioning someones name and being liked to them or their beliefs. but the OP is grasping at straws trying to create further tension and racial divide.
