*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

All these guns and armour will be irrelevant. There's TTK which is the start of Year 2 and this time next year, we will have had expansions III and IV. Forget all this hording! It's pointless.

Did you not watch the stream?

Many of the exotics are getting year two versions that are given automatically as long as you have the year 1 version.

All right but I bet you a month or two after TTK launches, you'll not have a single of piece of non-TTK armour/weaponry equipped. ;)

I dunno about that they are giving all the old exotics new perks iirc.

They released what changes they were making to no backup plans and the new perk would have made it the best exotic in the game.

they quickly re-tweeted that they won't be giving it that perk but another one.

So yeah bungie still hasn't learnt their lesson about making a single weapon/piece OP.

Might as well have them so at least if you shard them you can re build them at a moments notice later on with the blue print if they suddenly become relevant or needed. Who knows with buffs and nerfs...

Well, it is possible to play more than one game :) Besides that, I rarely buy games at launch so I'll probably just get battlefront until next year sometime.

Just pre-ordered TTK, anyone else pre-ordered yet or still sitting on the fence?

I have the PSN store credit ready and waiting to be redeemed to order TTK but I am still on the fence. Personally I don't feel that TTK is value for money though I know I shall get my monies worth anyway. What they have added sounds good but my trust in Bungie isn't what it once was. Also, I am enjoying Blops3 beta isn't good enough I kept my pre-order and I we haven't seen enough Battlefront gameplay.

Pre-ordered the boxed CE edition a few days after it was announced. Don't regret it one bit, although a part of me thinks I should've gone for the digital version just for convenience. Having said that, the original disc has barely left the drive this past year.

And another question if I may - if Destiny was ported to PC how many of you would switch from the console version to the PC version? (There are rumours of this happening as Bungie had a job listing for a PC role.)

hardly anybody would i imagine. console gamers play consoles for a reason.

put it this way the xbox 360 was launched in November 22, 2005 is now nearly 10 years old yet it plays destiny and only cost £210 to £280 @ launch.

would you still be able to play games like destiny after buying a pc for £200 a decade ago? no chance a £200 pc today couldn't run destiny never mind a 10 year old one.

that is just 1 part of it, plenty of others like level playing field. no cheaters, etc.

So are some exotic weapons being made redundant then? I haven't really looked at any of the news recently, but I've seen some screenshots of these new collections where some existing exotics have the taken king symbol in the top corner while some others don't. Can anyone give a quick rundown of what is actually happening with them?

The first major expansion is being launched 1 year after the original launch. It's a pretty major overhaul of the way some in-game systems work.

Year 1 = Destiny vanilla + The Dark Below + House Of Wolves
Year 2 = The Taken King ......
