If Hernandes scored that he'd have a good shout for starting ahead of Rooney. I'd also play Young instead of Mata just because it seems that the only guys willing to do any running are Young and Memphis
 
I don't comment much here, but having stayed up to watch this (1:37am here), Smalling is awesome, the midfield looks strong and much more composed, Memphis looks great but Rooney... Rooney should not be playing in the current position, and really I don't think he should be playing at all...
 
Absolutely no cutting edge. We need a couple of players in attack (be it a striker, winger, number 10, whatever).

LvG has sorted out the defence, to a degree, but the attack is too slow, too predictable and any chances we got came from deflections, or similar.

This attack won't suddenly 'click' and look dangerous.

I think I read our net spend this summer is something like £8m, which is pathetic, start buying.
