What film did you watch last night?

Watched Southpaw last night after seeing some glowing recommendations for it but found it a bit disappointing to be honest!

I really wanted to like this film but it just seemed to be a bit of a predictable rehash of Rocky 3 and Rocky 5! :(

Replace Mickey with Maureen for the tragedy, Clubber Lang with Miguel Escobar for the fall and redemption, Apollo Creed with Tick for the motivation and throw in a bit of bankruptcy and it's pretty much the same plot!

Gyllenhaal was good though - I find I like him in most films these days!

Pod. Two siblings get more than they bargained for when they attempt an intervention for their paranoid schizophrenic brother.

8/10.

The Harvest. Two kids get more than they bargained for when the secrets of a creepy family are revealed.

7/10.

We're Still Here. Three couples get more than they bargained for when they enter a strange town.

5/10.

Southpaw - good soundtrack, pretty much Rocky for the new age. I'd watch it again if there was nothing else on.

Avengers Age of Ultron - loved it, big Avengers fan, had a good mix of witty one-liners and action. Will defo watch again.

watched a few this weekend:
kingdom of heaven - 5/10 - too long and boring, looked good though.
bullet to the head - 6/10 - pretty formulaic but not too bad.
the man with the iron fists - 1/10 - garbage.
before the devil knows your dead - 8/10 - very good performances, especially from hoffman.
spirited away - 7/10 - i liked it but wasn't quite as 'amazing' as other people said.

The stoning of Soraya M

Now this story is grim and one of the most horrific things I've seen, I can only thank a God I don't believe in that I was born in a country where life is very easy now.

Watched on Amazon
8/10 for it as a film and 10/10 for the impact it has left on me

Hitman: Agent 47. An improvement to the Timothy Olyphant version. No disrespect to Timothy, but I found Rupert Friend to be a more convincing Agent 47 than he was. And the story did borrow a bit from the latest Absolution game. Plus, I am very intrigued about Zachary Quinto's character! I'd give it a 7/10.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Really enjoyed this movie. If only just for watching Henry Cavill. But the chemistry between himself and Armie Hammer was brilliant! Top notch stuff from Guy Ritchie. Gets an 8/10 from me. :)
