I'm going to make myself one of those T-shirts.

"I did the Vault of Glass and all I got was a crappy shader." LMAO.

Well, what an experience. I hadn't a flippin' clue what was going on. We made it to Atheon without much problem apart from the weird jumping section. WTF was that all about? Some guy kept slipping off a ledge - took 10 minutes to do it. But then I got lumped with the relic after some teleportation thing. The screen went black slowly and we all died. LMAO.

I guess I'll have to go and watch some videos on YouTube as no-one explained nothing.
 
The basics - When you get teleported you get marked so the screen slowly turns black. Whoever picks up the relic needs to kill everything then you can press and hold the grenade button which pops a bubble to cleanse you and the 2 others that got teleported. Once you exit the portal the relic holder goes to the middle platforms and holds grenade button to hold up a bubble shield - it's a bit like a titan bubble but you can shoot out of it to kill Atheon.

What console are you on? If you're on PS4 happy to run either raid and explain the mechanics as we go.

I purposely didn't look on YouTube how to do things as I didn't want anything spoiled but now I'm just brimming with questions as to why we did this, that and the other. :D

I am on PS4, yup but only til TKK comes along then I'm defecting to Xbone. :p So I'll be up for it on Xbox Live. :cool:
 
Oh my days. After watching some YouTube guide, I'm eager to have another crack. I wasn't even made aware that the Time's Vengeance sequences gave you practically unlimited super and grenades. Tut.

By 'blind' I mean not watching or reading guides or walkthroughs etc. before attempting the raid so we have to work it out. Obviously date and time is TBA until we know how long it will take to be the right level/light to have a proper go at it. This is more an expression of interest rather than a fireteam as can't arrange that actual fireteam until we know more so the more the merrier.

Should be good, I didn't manage to get any time of work, working for a start up is not great for free time I guess but I'm stacking up on quests so I should hopefully get too LV40 and some decent gear by the weekend.
 
I have booked some time off work, so I'll be free on 15th to 20th. If I can get levelled up in time, I'll be up for some blind raids too.

Will be playing on the PS4!

You don't want to use grenades when times vengeance is on. It makes atheon move around and therefore harder to hit his belly button (critical spot). Which means everyone else ends up doing less damage and therefore means it will take longer to kill him.

Supers also don't do enough damage or they make him move about also. The best thing to use is a sniper rifle like ice breaker or black hammer.

Or if you know how to use gjallahorn properly on atheon (you need to be outside of the bubble) and you cannot shoot the rocket over the bubble it will blow up before hitting him. So if you don't know how to use it don't bother as you will either kill yourself or do zero damage. You have to use it a specific way on atheon.


Snipers are the way to go though. With a weapon of light bubble at the back and relic bubble at the front. You can kill him using 1 teleport with black hammers with plenty of time still to go.

Give us a clue then? :p I know you can't shoot Gjallahorn from within the bubble. Tried that and died. :D
 
Very back of the map on the right of the ledge and shoot as far away from the bubble as possible. If you cannot get a decent angle move to a better spot up high on the right there is a good spot too.

Tbh though use a sniper it's so much easier.

I categorically need to do Skolas tonight / Saturday/ Sunday as it's the last thing on my triumph list to do. Still haven't had any Elder Ciphers tho :(

Have you managed to do Skolas' Revenge yet? It's the last thing on my list too and I really need to get it done :(
 
I've still got to do the skolas poe and my 100 crucible wins but tbh I don't really think I'll bother as you only get an emblem and/or shader??

I'll be online in about an hr or so if anyone is around to help me run a skolas poe then I'd be most appreciative.

Gimp hopefully u see this message but if you're setting up a raid for Tues then please put me down as I'll be around to do them.

I haven't as of yet, hopefully this evening tho with any luck. Once I've done it I'm more than happy to help anyone else out as I've pretty much done everything I'd like until the update :)

Tuesday is patch day, aint no body got time to raid!
 
Anyone able to help me do Crota and/or VoG tonight? Really want to get them done as was mentioned above, raids aren't going to happen much after patch day :p still not done them on PS4 and I could really do with the gear, leave 34 with only 3 exotics is kind of lame
