Got as far as the main room with about 3 minutes to go and all hell broke lose. Got the big boss to about 1/2 and then loads more spawned in and I died and time ran out.

That's about as far as I've got. Taking the big spawns balls thing out quickly helps, to stop more taken spawning in but that last room is just mayhem.
 
Balls, got into that last room then died but it ruined my daily story so I didn't get anything for doing the 20 minutes beforehand! Bugger

You effectively have a machine license, and a profile license. You automatically use your profile license when you sign in on somebody else's xbox. If you set your lad's xbox to your home one, it thinks your own xbox is somebody else's and lets you use your profile license. Your lad can then play on his using the machine license.

Worked without issues since we did this. I think its because taken king is effectively a digital game in the store's eyes, whereas the previous expansion pass was DLC which doesn't need this. Once its downloaded you don't need to worry about licenses

So no issues with the Taken King using this method?. This is what I have been doing but read over on Bungie forums that it wasn't working for Taken King

What rolls does it have? I would be happy getting one with some kind of reload perk even if the second perk was rubbish. As it stands I think I will have to settle for 'Not like the others' which has some rather beastly damage perks.

Tried the Black Hammer run numerous times with dr3ddPS, our best attempt was getting the boss down but we still needed another minute or so to clear up adds. I would say if you can't get into the boss room with more than 5 minutes on the clock then you've already failed.
 
dam that daily is brutal, took him down with 2 mins to spare then it was a case of 3 hunters with swords going nuts on the ads was metal.

2 of us had the 6x hunter golden gun helmet we managed 6 shots on him in total at 30K+ each hit
 
That daily just beat me,we managed to kill boss but no chance of clearing room,couple of us at 295 light and other at 294,noticed on vid just now that I hadn't seen before trying they were all 300+ light and seemed able to damage him and take mobs down much quicker than my team could.
 
Well just tried it by myself but the door didn't open so just completed the daily story.

Just seen a video posted up from someone that you don't have to do it on daily, you can just load the mission straight up and do it from there obv on hard mode tho. Not sure how true that is, but tbh I think I can wait for that exotic to drop for me...I'm in no hurry as I have a 295 solar sniper which causes huge damage.

Range finder and Life support sadly.

Tried twice earlier, got the boss down to about 10% health on first attempt, not many adds left that I could see but still a failure, second attempt the door wouldn't open even though we got there much faster so we just finished the daily. Might try again later though I don't think we'll do it due to light level, the guys in the youtube are high enough to make it a fair bit easier I suspect.

Finished the main taken king quest line now, much better structure than the original campaign, not entirely sure what happened story wise lol. And now looks like they have spent time making nice stuff to do after the end of the main missions, im light 190 now, level 38 so will keep at it!

I didnt have any want to continue back when the game first came out but now they have made some positive steps to keep me interested for the time being! Excited to try some raids, i imagine at level 40 etc the earlier raids may be quite doable? Never touched them, originally hit level 20 and stopped
 
So yeh looks like we have another 'Randall the vandal' in the Mausoleum. It's a yellow bar cabal though and I've fired a ton of rockets at him, telesto'd him and tried to sword him but he hardly takes any damage.

He's right at the part where you enter from the dantalion part of the dreadnaught.

Me and Gimp came across him yesterday and he was a right pain to take down.
