Proof of identity for FB?
It's social media, not a mortgage application.

So I didn't realise this was a thing. I have a facebook account but use an alter alias. In fact, I had another alias before this one but they asked me to change it as it was clearly not a real name, so I changed it to something else just as ludicrous. I don't want my real name on there, I want to remain anonymous, and a silly name is, well, more fun than "John Smith".
Anyhow, I logged in today to be greeted with another request to change my name as they suspect my current one is not genuine, except this time in order to change it I must submit a scan of my identification. Does anyone else think that is ludicrous?
Well I seldom use Facebook anyway, granted it comes useful to stalk beautiful people and I also like that I can access photos of relatives, particularly those who have now deceased, but I use it so little it makes no odds other than for that. I just don't understand how someone can have a profile for their pet dog and pretend to be that dog and reply to peoples messages, yet 'Mike Litoris' is completely unacceptableNeedless to say, au revoir FB, you fascist pigs!
./TL: DR COOL STORY BRO
E: I should read back my posts before I hit submit - stalking beautiful people in the same sentence as dead relatives. Edgy!![]()
Create fake ID, its not hard, then scan it in and Bobs your new name

Do this, but use your current Alias.
And if facebook confirm the ID is fraudulent they can pass this information on to authorities....
Not really wise to sugguest people break the law now is it.
it can't be illegal to own a fake id (a passport or driving license I could imagine being illegal of course, but there are other options), and using a website on the internets is hardly the same as buying age-restricted goods.

Never understood why people want fake id's on FB? Unless they are up to no good?
He isn't trying to get credit, buy drink under age, drive a car or enter the country with it lol.

I can think of dozens of professions where you may want a personal social media account but you don't want customers/clients to be able to find you.

Why can't you use your real name but with all the correct privacy options enabled to block all your information to none friends?
